I take Optibac probiotics for women....
Dosage! I need to check - just take 1 tablet a day....x
Thanks for replying can you please tell me the dose and how long one should be on this to see the effects.
Do you also use vaginal probiotics.
Hmm I am not sure I notice any effects - but I have been on them for so long maybe I would notice a change without them.
I checked the bottle and unsure of my actual dosage....
Sorry not much help! X
Ive recently started biokult pregnea which one of the consultants at care recommended. I haven't noticed any side effects, i take 2 tablets a day (breakfast and dinner).
Impryl is a great one for men, most consultants recommend it. In terms of probiotics, I use a brand called Inessa and the product is called 'advanced biotic complex'. This was recommended by a fertility nutritionist. I take one capsule every morning. It is safe to use throughout IVF and pregnancy. I can't see any effects as such but usually after egg collection I always get thrush and since being on this, I haven't experienced it on my last egg collection so I'm guessing it's doing it's work.
Impryl should be taken for 3 months prior to egg collection or whenever the semen is going to be provided. Once that's done, they can stop.
I don't know too much about the vaginal ones but I did have to use a course of 'Canseflor' which are vaginal capsules recommended by my fertility nutritionist. Once that was done, I moved onto oral probiotics.
I did a microbiome test through Mr Ramsey who is a urologist. This is how I found out that I had an imbalance of vaginal bacteria. It might be worth getting it done if you are worried about this.
Yes you can take it without testing, it is probably good just to use it anyway. I purchased it from Amazon. The dose is one capsule for six days and then once every week for four weeks vaginally. It is hard to say if there is any improvement but I did get a positive pregnancy test for the first time in my life, but sadly ended very quickly.
