Salpingectomy operation

Hi everyone

Just wanting to gauge from the wealth of experience on this forum.

I'm due to have a salpingectomy op on my right fallopian tube. My private health care won't cover it as its linked to my fertility treatment (and that's excluded from my healthcare cover).

Has anyone had this op privately? If so, where and how much was it? I've heard it's about £8k. I live in london.

Thanks

Hi i had mine privately too - about half the amount you’ve listed but when i was researching i got many quotes around 8k too. Apparently the clinic i went to doesn’t do it anymore but my advice is when getting the quotes ask for a full cost breakdown so you can see why it’s so expensive, etc.

Thanks Lolalules. I'm embarking on ringing around the clinics today to get an idea of costs. My parents live in the Midlands and I'm wondering if they might be cheaper (london weighting and all). I could always stay there and recover!!

Yeah that’s what i did too, but i also contacted private surgeons as well and tried to arrange via their secretary. Are you in Cambridge? If so, let me know and I can tell you in DM who i used.
