Anyone from the UK had treatment in Greece then asked to find an obstetrician/ consultant in the UK for continued care? I am currently waiting for an antenatal appointment on the NHS and I am based in East London.
The IVF clinic in Greece have said I need to arrange a private ultrasound scan next week at 6 weeks and a consultation with an obstetrician as well. Anyone from the UK been through this process? Any recommendations on a consultant in the UK?
It would be weeks before I would be able to get an appointment with a midwife here in the UK, in the meantime i will need to continue my treatment with a UK obstetrician/consultant so that they can advise regarding any changes to medication etc.
Any advice on care after treatment abroad?

Hi lovely, I had succesful treatment in Greece too. You can get an early scan at a private company which is fairly cheap....I used Ultrasound Direct and they have branches all over the UK. The other next step after getting a positive is to let your GP know and/or follow their protocol for early pregnancy with the local midwife which you have done. Your Greek clinic should still be offering advice on meds etc meantime.....mine did well into my pregnancy. Good luck.xxx
As Cinderella said, I don’t have a uk doctor monitoring my care but my clinic in Cyprus has supplied meds/scripts for me to buy meds to get me to 12 weeks by which time I will have seen a midwife and my care will come under nhs antenatal. Blood tests and scans since treatment I’ve had done privatel and paid for myself, many of the 4D baby scan places can also do early reassurance scans, ultrasound direct are good but an hours drive away for me so I went with a local 4D baby scan place instead. I did ask my GP if they’d take over now I had had treatment and was told not without a uk infertility clinic overseeing my care and giving them instructions.
At first congratulations with your success.I had the same but I was in Italy after my ivf in greece. It was very easy to find a good private doctor to follow up. I believe all over the world it’s obvious that you need to see a doctor to follow up your pregnancy in person and not from thousand miles away. However my clinic in Greece Continue with suggestions on what program to follow but of course with my local doctor.
