I’ve been quiet on this forum for a while following our failed 4th ivf round in December (coupled with a nasty bout covid too). Decided to take a wee break as had several other things going on and now I have a consultation tomorrow for our 5th round of ivf…. As if that’s my real life?! I’m 37 now, been playing the ivf game since I was 35. Bloody squid game would have been more fun.
Our doctor is keen that we continue with own eggs as everything looks great in the lab, just no implantation! I also have high nk cells so received treatment for them on our last cycle & will do the same on this cycle. Also trying a slightly new protocol with more complex meds (I think gonal f coupled with something else rather than meriofert) - still a short protocol though.
We’re also doing PGT-A in case our embryos look good but are dodgy deep down. I’d been resistant to this as we get low numbers & the evidence is mixed - but I think I need some guidance as to what the chuff is going on with our implantation resistant embryos. If we get some normals, I’ll do ERA before implantation. If they’re not normal, I’ll start a donor cycle in Spain (I like the way they match the donor there). You gotta love a plan, right?
Anyways hope you are all well ❤️ And congrats to everyone who has had a baby / got preggers in my absence. Xxxx

Hi Krystal_43. Welcome back.x Sorry to hear you were under the weather with covid. Sometimes a break is needed to go at this from a new good place. Sounds like you have a good plan in place. I will keep everything crossed for you! Good luck.xx
Thanks hun. I got a positive covid test & negative pregnancy test two days before Xmas. The lowest of the low! Fingers crossed for this one, hope you’re doing well.
Oh that must have been so hard for you. Biggest of hugs & so glad you are back. Everything crossed this is the one.x
Good luck lovely, it might not be what you want to hear but my sister had her two kids on her last two FETs with her worst 2 embryos and those were rounds 7 and 8.. she didn't change anything and she even refused to do a scratch etc as it was so painful when she tried that on her 5th round.. and they are now 4 and 1 and my dream nephew and niece! That sort of success story doesn't always help but hopefully it gives you a bit of hope. xx
I love those stories! Keep them coming ❤️ My god daughter was born on round 6, so I always knew it could be a possibility (but just hoped it wouldn’t!) - I’ve also really come round to the idea of donor eggs (having met some donor conceived children ) so I feel like there’s a plan (though I know it’s not a guarantee). How are you getting on Daisy? Any news on your FET? Xxxx
Just stopped by to say that our journeys sound similar - I had my fourth failed cycle in November and couldn't do anymore and had to take a break. I am just gearing up for my fifth stimulation cycle too. In the meantime I have had the thrombotic risk profile test and NK cells tests and been found positive for MTFHR gene mutation and high NK cells and cytocine so will be having treatment for that during next cycle. I will be using my own eggs. This will be my last cycle I think due to the pressure it has put on our relationship and the fact time really is running out for me (I am now 46 and been playing this hideous IVF game since I was 44 following a MMC at 43). Just wanted to wish you all the best. Please do stay in touch! Xx
Thanks for commenting. It’s so nice hearing from people in the same boat (though obviously I wish we were in a different boat, where pregnancy came easily!!). It’s good to hear that you have some new things to try this cycle - I really think that helps motivate you to keep going (rather than playing the numbers game!). I wish you all the luck in the world. When is your cycle starting? Xx
