Hello girls. First of all i would like to tell you that i m fron Greece so i might do some mistakes. I have a little boy and now i m trying to get pregnant again with the help of science. After the last natural cycle i have a 5bc blastocyst. My Dr said that it would be better if we didn't put our hopes on such an average embryo and that i should continue collecting embryos but to be honest i would like to give it a chance... My boy was a 4ba blastocyst which reached day 5 at day 6. This embryo did the same. What should i do? We want only one more child...not tweens for many reasons. Is there any hope with that blastocyst? Should we tranfer it???

5bc blastocyst.....is there any hope???
Hey. I would definitely transfer. There’s nothing to lose. And as people are always saying on here, if it’s good enough to freeze, it’s good enough to make a baby! Wishing you lots and lots of luck!
Hey, I’m currently pregnant with a day 5 4BC, in theory yours is an even better grade. Grades can change so quickly. Xxx
The doctors can advise you, but it’s your decision, so go what feels right for you. As you say, you only want one more baby. So if it works, then it saves you doing another round of IVF.
When you are in such a position you desperately want to hear success stories...I know that it might not work out for me but i feel that i have to give it a chance... Thank you very much🥰
5BC (day 6) is one my 6 months old twin 😁. Embryo grading is just a number and it can be very subjective (embryologist or clinic dependant). I would say that if your embryo is chromosome normal then this transfer can result in a pregnancy. Give it a go... don't stress much about the grade. Good luck 🍀
That's so great!!! Thank you very much!!! I wish the best for your family!!! I hope i will have the same luck as you. I will give it a go!!! Thank you!!!
That gives me hope I have a day 6 5AC I would like to try for a sibling x
That’s wonderful do you mind me asking how old you were when they collected your eggs ? Thank you x
I had my eggs collected at 29 years old and embryos were transferred at 30 😁
Ahh young lady 🙂 . I was 35 when they were collected. Felt already quite over the hill with all the scare mongering that women need to get moving once hit 35 for ivf. So wrong what the media do to women in adding stress although there is some evidence quality begins to decline on a gradual level after 35/36 X
Hi there, I’m currently 7w pregnant with FET 6BC grade blastocyst. I transferred 2 of the same grade and now I’m pregnant with 1. Hope this gives you the encouragement to proceed!
Thank you very much honey...I wish you a great pregnancy...It really so encouraging reading stories as yours...I will proceed and i will let you know!!!
I am currently 5+3 weeks pregnant with a 4AA day 5 blastocyst. Yours is a 5BC, which should be better that the one i had. Hope this gives you the encouragement to proceed!
Absolutely worth trying! I’m currently 8weeks from a double transfer, 3BB and 3 BC and it could well be the 3BC that stuck! Go for it! Wishing you all the luck 🍀 xxx
I m so happy for you... and i m so happy for all these examples... Unfortunately i ve been told so many times not to give a chance...And here in this forum you give me hope... I know that it might not work but i won't find out unless i try... Thank you very much!!!
Absolutely- you’ll never know unless you try. I just think every embryo no matter the grade is worth a chance.
On our 2nd cycle the clinic froze a really poor grade blast (3CD) to give us some hope as it was our last go on the NHS. They warned that the chance of it surviving the thaw was incredibly slim so to expect it not to. Miraculously, it was transferred and gave us our 1st BFP and made it to week 5 before sadly ending in a chemical. You could argue that it was doomed from the beginning but we didn’t see it that way and it gave us so much hope when we really needed it that it survived the thaw, continued to progress for hours before the transfer and managed to implant and last a few weeks.
My point being that these little embies are made of tough stuff and absolutely deserve a chance. I’m so glad you’ve received some hope in everyone’s replies because that’s all us ladies need isn’t it, hope.
Wishing you all the luck 🍀 xxx
Definately transfer you will always wonder! Have to give it a chance. You will regret it plus what if it is the one! I had a healthy little girl last November with a grade 3BB. Slower to expand and didn’t thank it would work. Yours is already starting to hatch which shows its particularly vigorous … I read hatching is particularly good sign. My son was a hatching 5AB. X
Thank you very much. My son was an expanded ready to start hatching 4 ba blastocyst. The only thing that makes me a bit skeptical is if letters b and c show that if a child is born it might have a health problem. If it s a sign that something is wrong with that blastocyst.
Hi, I know this thread is old but wanted to say the letters BC don't always mean there is an chromosome issue. We have had 6 blastocyst PGT-A tested, all of poor quality (BC and CC) and only 1 came back abnormal. All the others were healthy! We're having a 5BC transfered today and I'm really anxious, which is how I've found this page. I hope everyone got the miracles they were looking for 🙏🏼
