Hi, I wanted to ask about time off during treatment. I been working during treatments taking the oocyte retrieval day off as hospital app with pay and a couple of days annual or sick leave after this to recover. All the other appointments, scans and blood tests I had to use flexi system meaning I had to make up the time later, which due to distance is 2,5 hours off work at a time. I guess it's alright but can be a very long day when you are in treatment and need to rest and stay relaxed. I was lucky to be able to work from home as well. I have had 3 cycles like this and one abroad where I took a/l from a point and onwards to travel abroad.
Generally in my work's policy it says medical appointments need to be made outwith working hours but if that can't happen then we have to use the flexi system . I looked up the policy of my employer and it says "reasonable time off with pay for fertility treatment ". No further details. So I think I shouldn't have used flexi for the scans and blood tests? Would you be able to give any advise please?
Still going through treatment. I have a FET coming up and again I took some flexi time for a scan and blood test owing the time back, but I wonder if I should make it up. It is so stressful. Thankfully the transfer will fall on a weekend so it will be fine.
