3 day embryo on board now the 2ww starts

PrincessGurn1984 profile image

Just had our one fresh embryo transferred at day 3. It obviously didn’t get to grading as not a 5 day blast but they said it was starting to compact and cell formation looked good so was heading towards the next steps to get to a blast.

Has anyone had success with a 3 day fresh transfer? Longer to wait on a 2ww wait with this, 13 days instead of our usuals 11 day test period. If you did a 3 day transfer how soon did you get a positive show up if you did sneaky early tests 🙊

Hi! I just had a 3 day embryo transfer which ended up in a positive rising HCG blood test 💫

It was a 10 cell, average quality 🚀

This time I was on HCG support after transfer so I had to wait for the bloodwork on 14 dpo and then to see it doubling 72 hours after.

Good luck to you. 3 days embryos rock if you ask me 🤗

Yay congratulations! This gives me hope. What’s HCG support? I’m on Cyclogest progesterone pessaries 3 times a day, then I start Lubion progesterone injections on Saturday (day 5) x

You know the Ovitrelle trigger shot? It contains HCG. The clinic has proscribed me to take “6 clicks” every six days until 7 weeks pregnant. Apparently it’s to boost the body’s natural production of progesterone. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I haven’t found much info about it.

It’s making the bloated as a cow, I seriously look 6 months pregnant 🐮. But hey, always happy to try something new!

So you are on 400g of cyclogest 3 times a day + LUBION injections? Do you have an issue with progesterone or is this standard protocol for your clinic?

This time I have on my own initiative doubled my cyclogest intake. Am actually scared I can be taking too much, but good to hear someone else is taking a lot as well 🫣

I read it can’t be harmful to take a lot of progesterone support but there’s always a little worry about something.

I saw that your current IVF cycle was a disappointment compared to your last IVF cycle with really different results. The same happened to me. I was also taking sooooo many supplements and lots of q10 etc (freaking out expensive) and then we had the worst outcome in years. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Was soooo disappointed until I got a positive test.

I guess the cycle does not matter so much, it’s the final outcome. But I seriously imagined lots of good quality blasts this time and maybe 2 to freeze even.

This was going to be our last cycle ever, and I am so nervous if this embryo will stick around or not. It seems impossible!

6 weeks today. 🤞

I really hope it works out for you, and that you get a positive test! Sounds good that your embryo was already developing to become a blast!

Lots of hugs and supportive high fives 🙏

That’s really interesting I like hearing what other people are trying and it sounds like it is working for you which is great!

Yes that’s right that’s the doses I am, I had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks before we had our son naturally 7 years ago, so I think that’s probably why I am on that level of progesterone, but I do ask for my bloods to be checked so I know the level and my progesterone is spot on good so I’m happy in that respect.

We have secondary infertility from my husband (motility and concentration). But we feel lucky we conceived our son who is now 7.

That’s exactly the same as me, you would think with all supplements you would get a better result right?! It’s baffling! Can’t get my head around the difference of this cycle.

Have you continued to take q-10 now? My pregnacare vitamin has it in and now I’ve got the embryo inside I’m not sure if to switch to just taking folic acid and vitamin d? I’m sure I read somewhere that shouldn’t continue q-10 when pregnant but I don’t know if that’s right 🙈

So sorry to hear about your miscarriage at 12 weeks. That must have been really hard!

But lovely to hear you have a 7 year old son! I also have a son, 5 1/2 years old conceived during our second ICSI cycle. My husband also have poor sperm quality and numbers and we recently found out he also has high DNA damage.

High DNA damage can also lead to miscarriage and I am 39 now, so 🤞

If this does not work, he will have a varicocele operation which he should have had years and years ago if it was discovered earlier 🙈

Every time IVF does not work they look at me, never at him. Even he is the one with the known problems, it makes me infuriated! Had they looked closer or taken more tests of him earlier we could maybe have avoided 9 fresh cycles trying for a sibling 🤪

But I have issues too off course and egg quality is not top notch at 39…

I had my progesterone level tested privately at 14dpo and it was >60ng/mL

Isn’t that extremely high? My clinic does not test progesterone so haven’t shared the news with them 😅

About the q10, I am unsure, is it at a very low level? The book “it starts with the egg says it may be beneficial after egg transfer as women with higher levels have fewer miscarriages. But it hasn’t been tested in pregnancy.

Regarding vitamins I am just taking multivitamin, omega 3, extra methyl folate and vitamin D.

+ vivag for the “environment” down there.

+ Hydroxychloroquine, prednisolon and Levaxine due to my two miscarriages last fall.

So let’s hope all this work 😅

When are you going to test? 🫣

I turn 38 in July and age just adds an extra layer of pressure doesn’t it 🙈 for egg quality etc. I haven’t read that it starts with an egg book do you recommend it? Has it helped? It’s really interesting hearing what other vitamins people are taking. I’ve held off testing so far, I think I might test Sunday or Monday. Official test day is next Wednesday 8th. But i think by Sunday it would be accurate x

Yeah age defiantly put an extra pressure on it. I’m thinking why should it work now at 39 when it didn’t work at 35 and up?

I thought it was very interesting to read the book “it start with the egg”, but I was already on a lot of supplements and when I added even more from this book we had really poor results on our last IVF. It did lead to a positive pregnancy test but only one 3-day embryo.

The IVF before we got 3 blasts for the first time.

I think adding DHEA before that cycle made the difference for me, I tested my testosterone and it was indeed low which is really unusual for PCOS.

I think maybe some supplements from the book made my testosterone lower again, like NAC.

What I took before my great IVF cycle was:

Vitamin D - 1600 iu

Vitamin C - 1000mg

Vitamin e - 300

Q10 Gold 400 mg daily

DHEA x 3

Multivitamin + omega 3

Then I added this a few months before my last IVF and had much worse results:

Alpha-lipoic acid x 600 mg (200-300 R-alpha)

N-acetylcysteine - 600 mg -

Melatonin - 3 mg

Methylfolate - at least 800mcg

I was all really expensive 🫣

But I have been pregnant three times in one year after starting supplements compared to nothing for the previous 3 years so….. something is working!

Are you taking DHEA?

My partner was also on all the same supplements and it made our fertilization rate a lot better on two of our cycles.

Ha ha, you can read on my profile if you which. Too many cycles and too much info 😂

Good luck with your testing on Sunday, I am hoping for you!

I am now 5+4 and tested my HCG again yesterday and it was good 😅🙌

Time is going by sooooo slowly

Thanks Diane, is it ok to continue taking Pregnacare that has q-10 in it? I’ve heard you shouldn’t have q-10 when pregnant? Shall i switch?
