Hi ladies…was a bit surprised when my clinic decided to freeze at day 2😭…I had 5 eggs and 3 fertilized they said they were doing well but didn’t want to risk taking all to day 5 incase they failed to progress…has anyone had any success stories with 2day embryos…am so nervous that none of them will take…

2 day embryos
Yes me! I didn’t ever have many eggs so my clinic always put them back early. (I never had a day 5) My children are a day 3 and a day 2. Good luck x
Dear zzko21
I once asked an embryologist if that was better or not and she answered that sometimes this is decided when there are not so many fertilized eggs. As you know, even if they really try it, doctors cannot mimic exactly the environment of the uterus, so some embryos might not survive to day 5 in the lab and actually work well and develeop in the uterus. It is a way for the doctors to wait for the "miracle of nature" to happen. Of course if you had many embryos at day 2, they usually try to push them to day 5 (because there are many, they can afford to lose some to the different coditions, the freeze and unfreeze procedures, etc.) , as there is a better risk/beneffit tradeoff.
