Last collection, not a very good outcome

Well, we did the collection yesterday and got 7 eggs—but then only two of them were mature, and only one of them fertilized. I am not optimistic that it will make it to blastocyst.

I don't know if this had to do with the fact that I had Covid DURING the stimulation, that this was a luteal phase stimulation, or all the drugs I was on from the pneumonia, or what. Or just my age. I don't know. Maybe we will have a blastocyst on day 5 but I am not optimistic.

Got my fingers crossed Lux. Does your clinic do day 3 transfers or only day 5? Hoping this is the one for you xx

This will be frozen, and they want to wait on a day 5.

Good luck Lux. I know the numbers at each stage can give you so much confidence or can trigger worry feelings. They really play with our already delicate emotions. I have read lots of stories where few fertilised have resulted in blasts though. Wishing you tons of luck xx

I'm sorry, lovely. This must be so stressful for you. You've done all you can. Keeping fingers and toes crossed that your fertilised egg makes it through. xxxx

I am sorry to read that. I am not a doctor, but it could be because of the sickness. From what I read you were very ill. The first process thatbthe body "closes" in emergencies is fertility. Cortisol increases, insuline increases and so hormones get out of sync. In my case my hormones are always out of sync because of PCOS and axiety (that cause cortisol and insuline to get higher)... but a virus or a serious illness can cause the same. I hope all goes fine.

Just wanted to say good luck & keeping everything crossed for you! I hope you are feeling a bit better too.xx
