Hey all, I am new here.

Was so glad to find people who are struggling like I am.

We have been trying to conceive for 6 years and feel we are missing something.

Are we doing something wrong.

We have both been checked by doctor . My husband is fine . He is more than fine . I have to lose weight. Please please help. ..I use to be slim so don't see why ruling out weight helps .

Have you been referred to a fertility specialist?

There are a lot of people on here who have 'unexplained infertility' myself included - which is what it sounds like you have.

There are lots of ways to get help, the first step is to speak to a specialist. Good luck x

All the doc said was I was to lose weight and my husband to stop smoking.

I keep fit and o watch what I eat. I have weight but I have ruled out weight as was slim on my wedding day so weight is nothing to do with it. I am also annoyed as my sis got help with her 3 kids but they won't help me . I have 8 neice and nephews and treat them all like they my own.... I would love to be called mum one day. Fingers crossed.

I was also in same condition as you, husband was all good and I was to loose weight, I did loose some but was still unable to conceive until I was referred to a specialist who did it for me. I have a 16month old daughter and currently 8weeks pregnant

Awe wow. Congratulations

If you’ve been trying for 3 years and haven’t conceived you should have been referred to a fertility specialist and will be eligible for ivf. But in reference to weight you must be under a bmi of 30. Weight can have a negative effect for some trying to conceive. Obviously there are lots of larger women who have no problem. When there’s nothing you know you can do other than the obvious things like losing weight then it’s worth a try. In terms of your husband smoking, yes that could have an effect. So he should stop. He could also be the factor here, is he exercising and fit? Testosterone produced from exercise has a big effect on producing more sperm and diet can help sperm motility. It’s hard convincing the other half that they have to do stuff too but it’s worth it. Are you both taking supplements too - that’s also something you should do.
