Are my follicles growing too fast?

This is my 4th fresh cycle, new drug protocol and I’m responding really differently and I’m worried I’m responding too fast and it will lead to low quality/immature eggs. I’ve only done 4 injections so far tonight will be 5. I have a lead follicle at 17mm and a few at 11-13 and a few <10. Normally I’m a slowish responder and stim for 12-13 days so this feels very different. Does this sound concerning or is this normal for typical responders? I knew a lot was going on as I already have a lot of EWCM and the heavy bloated feeling I don’t usually get until at least day 8. I’ve emailed my doctor but I’d love opinions of others since I told him I thought we should have started me on a slower dose and he didn’t agree and so I went with him but I’m wondering if it was a mistake.

My second round I had one early lead follicle after several days and others behind, similar to you. Taking out the one lead, the others produced a nice cluster so we essentially sacrificed the early one (let it get over mature) and then the others were collected together. This was my successful round so it definitely did not hurt! Xx

Hello I was the same as above. I had a lead follicle that just shot forward it was up at 18 when the rest were at 11-12 so we just carried on and lost that one xxx

Thanks both! Just heard back from my doctor and he wants to keep me on the same dose and said he’s very pleased so let’s see where we end up. Happy to sacrifice one to get more of the others!!

Did they change the dose on your meds at all? My lead follicle is now 21 so meets the criteria for egg collection but most of the others are still 13-15 (one at 17). They said they can’t sacrifice the big one of my LH has started to surge already so looks like I may not get many eggs as that lead one took off too quickly

No they did not change the dose. I was on buserelin to stop ovulation though, so would not have been producing LH. Are you not on something to stop you ovulating? Xx

Yes I’m on Fyremadel to stop me ovulating, but the nurse still said when I asked her it depended what my LH was doing and they’d get my blood results this afternoon 🤷🏻‍♀️

OK. I thought fyremadel would stop production of LH but maybe they are worried it has not worked completely. Hopefully they will shed some light on it xx

I had the same with this round. I was on two different drugs and higher doses than normal. After 4 nights of stims I already had quite a few at 16 and a few already at 11-12-13-14. I had EC 5 days later, I was also quite surprised and thought things were moving too fast but thank God all turned out fine. Xx

Thanks so much for sharing this is a big relief! Where most of your eggs mature? I’m not complaining if I get to do fewer days of stims (except for all the excess drugs I’ll have paid for) I just don’t want half my eggs to be immature like they were last time!

They've collected 22 eggs, and 21 were mature, 14 fertilized and we have 6 embryos in the freezer 🤗🤗🤗🤗❤️

Oh wow that’s amazing!! I could only dream of numbers like that the most eggs I’ve ever had is 8!

Same here. With my first round I had 4 eggs collected and zero fertilisation, with my 2nd round I had 7 collected, and 3 made it to day 5. Both EC I had over 30 follicles and most were empty. That's why I was in a total shock when doctor told me they've collected 22 eggs and in all honesty I still can't believe it 🤣

This happened to me!But I have pcos and I am a very fast responder usually (4 fresh cycles)

My doctor reduced my dose and they let me do some costing (days without injection) and things turned out fine eventually.

(my first cycle though they didn't know I was a fat responder and only 5 days of stimis I produced waaaaay more eggs and it was a mess and got canceled)
