Egg collection update

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say thank you for all the advice and support you gave leading up to my egg collection which was yesterday.

I found the egg collection quite painful, not sure why, but I did enjoy the feeling of fentanyl and midazolam!! Sadly my left ovary was still unreachable 😕 so we could only use my right one. Although I had 19+ good sized follicles at my final scan last week, they only collected 6 eggs. Not sure why that happened 🤔

Anyway, had a call from the embryologist this morning to say 3 have fertilised... so now keeping everything crossed they all continue ok 🤞having a freeze all due to the size of my ovaries! I'm quite glad as I think it will be good to get myself into a better state before transfer.

Sorry you had a tough collection! This IVF lark is never easy and disappointments are common, sadly. It's hard to understand why lots of follicles doesn't always mean lots of eggs, for instance. BUT as you say you have 3 embryos right now, and that's a good outcome! 3 good chances there🤞 I'm keeping everything crossed you get good results in a few days 😘 Time to take care of yourself now and recover xx
