Today I have been for my 3rd scan. My left ovary is still up in my abdomen and no amount of pushing on my tummy by the nurse would move it! On the plus side, my right ovary has 19 follicles measuring 11-17mm and 4 other smaller ones. However, the doctor wants to give us every chance of getting every egg, so I've got to use Citrafleet bowel prep on Monday to empty my bowel as it may make reaching the left ovary possible. I'm dreading this part! My anxiety is really starting to kick in now π©

Egg collection Tuesday
Hi babysteps,
I had my last remaining tube removed yesterday in preparation for IVF (had a hydrosalpinx and ectopic that ruptured other tube) the consultant said my right ovary is hidden by the bowel but shouldnβt be a problem to collect eggs from if itβs on top of the bowel and not under the bowel. Let me know how you get on. Wishing you the best of luck xx
Hi Babysteps22....Please the only advise I can give in preparation of your egg retrieval is ask for as much sedation as possible. ..This was my problem on my 1st round (starting 2nd in july). I don't want to put the fear in you but I have never experienced pain like it in my life. My left ovary sits high and i had to tap out of the retrieval ( everyone is different) I wish you all the very best of luck xx
Try not to panic too much. I was the one who said about them pushing on my tummy in my last post to you. They can be a lot more brutal when you are sedated and I never felt a thing or remembered anything and I had six egg collections in total! Good luck x
Thank you Daisy π that's good to know. Trying not to be an anxious mess for the next few days π grateful to hear other's experiences, thank you x
You will be fine, lovely. They'll knock you out and you will have taken a pain killer beforehand. What helped me when I was nervous was thinking of all the other women who've gone through this procedure and been just fine! π§‘
