I had my first DE transfer in September and got a BFN. We have one day 6 (5bb) in the freezer. I was due to do a FET in January but I got covid so I started this month with the hope to do a transfer early March. I had my scan this morning to check the lining and they discovered a polyp. I was told stop meds and that it needs to be removed.
This could take a few months I'm so upset as I just turned 42 its seems to be one thing after another.
So my question because we only have one day 6 embryo should we do another round ( this will be the last round as financially we cant afford more) - I've already done 4 with my OE. Incase this one doesnt work and with the extra delay now waiting for an apt.to get the polyp removed? As a back up.
I feel so sad and I dont know has anyone felt like this but I dont want my OH to resent mme if we cant have kids -so at the back of my mind is at what stage do we say enough and go our Separate ways.
Sorry for the long post I was so postive and looking forward to the transfer but now this- I just dont know anymore.

So sorry to hear your story. It's very very hard to take. Firstly, I hope you know that you aren't letting anyone down. Infertility is not your fault, it isn't fair or right that you are facing difficulties conceiving but it happens, and it's so important to have support behind you 💚 So I hope you have that somewhere 😘 I completely understand your frustration about the polyp delaying everything... at our age, every month feels like one month further from our dream 😪 I had a polyp found on my cervix in Dec 2020 and although my consultant said he actually didn't mind going ahead with a fresh IVF cycle in spring 2021, as it wasn't in my womb, I didn't want to as I knew it bled easily if anything touched it (it was found during a smear test). So I actually WANTED to get rid of it, and managed to get it done on the NHS (the ONLY flipping thing I managed to get done on the NHS, relating to fertility😆!!) in I think March or April last year. Think of it this way, you want your body to be in the best condition it can be so when that embryo gets put back, you have the best chance! And also worth remembering that if you are doing DE then actually the delay really shouldn't have much impact on chances of implantation, so try not to worry there. As far as doing another DE cycle in the meantime... if it doesn't slow down your polyp removal (and I don't see why it would), and you can afford it, I suppose it's worth considering, if it gives you peace of mind to know you have more frozen embryos waiting to be put back where they belong 😘 But again, remember that if this is with DE, you won't need to worry about quality declining with another few months of waiting. So you could always get the polyp sorted, try your frozen embryo (which has a good chance of success!) first and then if needed think about another DE cycle. Thinking of you xx
Hi Hopeful. Not what you want to hear of course, but best to get the polyp out of the way. The embryo you have is quite safe and will not age, so perhaps an idea to have another round to see if you can create some more. Just wanted to wish you well and of course for succcess next time when you have a transfer, Diane
