Hello lovely people

I hope you all had a good start to the new year... I will start another long protocol as soon as Aunty Flow decides to arrive to harvest more eggs... before having a transfer. I wanted to reach out for some advise Im thinking to start yoga just to help me declutter my mind and have something to focus on other than IVF. Ive read that yoga during ivf is safe but just wanted to check what others thought and in particular would you suggest hot yoga ? Thank you as always and may 2022 be our year! Baby dust to all 💙

Hi Applepie. Some gentle yoga should be OK but I wouldn't do hot yoga, as reproduction is happier in cooler temperatures. Hope all goes well with egg collection. Diane

Hello! 🧘‍♂️ Fan here. Giving up exercise altogether has been a really hard thing for me. My nurses and doc said up until egg collection only gentle yoga, no strenuous exercise and to avoid twisting poses - with stimulation there is a risk of ovarian torsion. After egg collection i was told to avoid altogether and just do walking as exercise.I did do yoga until egg collection with my last cycle - you could also consider pregnancy yoga (online) if it doesn't bother you when they have references to baby and pregnancy here and there. It's much more gentle. I would avoid hot yoga, you can get the same benefits from a traditional practice like hatha or even a gentle (slow!!) vinyasa flow. Check in with your doctor or nurses to be sure though. Mine definitely said no after transfer. Best of luck!!!

Thank you so much

You probably shouldn’t do yoga once the 2 week window starts- before would be fine. I did one session of what I didn’t realise was hot yoga after the 2 week window and worried it was too much for me. I’m now doing pregnancy yoga but that’s only once you’re in the second trimester. Maybe check with the course leader
