Which NHS IVF clinic to use?

Hi all,

I've just undergone a laparoscopy to further investigate our infertility. Due to the outcome we've been advised to select an NHS clinic for IVF treatment - Cardiff, Bristol or Oxford. However I've had no information about which clinics these are, to further investigate. When I put a Google search in all the private clinics are showing.

The NHS has been fantastic and I'm grateful for their care but the communication is horrific and I feel completely left in the dark 😞.

If anyone has any advice or can point me in the right direction I'd be so grateful.

Hi lovely

I can’t speak for Cardiff or Bristol but Oxford Fertility is who you’d be with if you went with Oxford. They take both NHS and private patients xx

Ok, great thanks for that. I just need to have a look at all three options but without any hospital/clinic names it's a minefield. It doesn't help that they give you a quick chat after the op whilst you're still incredibly groggy from the anesthetic!

Haven’t used NHS fertility clinics but I would consider distance from home/work and the logistics around that as well. Good luck x

In Bristol I think it would be Southmead. The BCRM (private) operates from there I think or at least the same drs are on the southmead gynaecology team. I’ve got my first appointment there for fertility/recurrent miscarriage later this month. I’ve already seen one of the team for possible endo and I had my child there. When I get the choice, I choose Southmead in this area as it seems more organised than others.
