Hi i am 8weeks pregnant and the back of my throat has tiny spots with pus. Its been 3weeks with this infection. I was prescribed penicillin 2 tabs 4times a day for 10 days over the phone by doctor. Has anyone had penicillin in early pregnancy or ivf pregnancy? Please advise so i can take them too!

Hi Rosie. Your GP has prescribed them for you and he/she will know you're pregnant. As long as you are not allergic to penicillin which your GP will know, they should do the job just fine and won't affect your little one. Drink plenty of fluids too. Hope you're soon over it. Diane

I had a UTI in early pregnancy and they gave me amoxicillin as it was such an old antibiotic that they know that it doesn't have an effect on the baby in pregnancy.
