Hello everyone!

I have always wondered if I might have endometriosis as I have quite painful periods and have been TTC for two years but everytime I discuss this with my gynaecology she keeps stating its very unlikely. I also know that the proper diagnosis is via a laparoscopy. Can you maybe share your experiences ( if you are comfortable) on how you got the diagnosis and what treatment you were offered?

Hi 👋

This sounds like it could be endo. I’ve got endometriosis. The best way to diagnose is having a lap.

On mefenamic acid and transnamic acid tablets which do help my heavy painful periods.

I struggled to conceive for 11 years with loses and an ectopic due to endo but I got my son 10 months ago from ivf.

I would suggest adding yourself to the endometriosis group. You will prob get more support there xxx

Have you had any investigations for fertility? - if endometriosis is present it is pick up by laparoscopy as other test [blood test ,scans ] are not a conclusive way to diagnose endometriosis .Janet

Yes, a lot of blood work and ultrasound and a hysterosalpingogram. But not a laparoscopy

Hello my love. I would definitely push for a Diagnostic Laparoscopy. I had slightly painful periods - but always compared my pain to others with known endo and it wasn’t the same. However, had a lap done and turns out I did have endo! It had actually messed my left ovary. Anyway had the surgery, they removed (burned off) the endo, corrected my ovary and 2 full cycles later I’ve just had a BFP after almost 2 years trying. My amh was very very low too and apparently endo can be the cause. I was being advised by a private clinic, but surgery performed by NHS.

Push for it if you can!! 🤞🏼🙏🏼🍀💕
