Egg quality grading

Just had my transfer today, the one they transferred was BBB, they said that’s really good and they don’t really grade any as A’s. Is BBB actually good or are they trying to make me feel better 😂 please just give it to me straight, I can handle it! We only had BBB as our top grading one x

A is top quality, B is good, C is average, D is poor quality. With blastocysts they grade both parts, BB is good, wishing you luck with your cycle x

A lot of clinics have different grading mechanisms. So your clinic might use their own one that doesn't correlate to other peoples experiences. For example my previous clinic did a number and a letter. My current clinic just do 2 letters etc etc.

I say trust your clinic and feel confident that it is a good grading, but also remember it actually doesn't necessarily matter.. I have seen some really poor quality embryos going on to become a baby.. so I wouldn't stress about it, and just focus on staying calm and giving your embryo the best chance with lots of positive thinking!! Good luck xx

Try not to get too caught up on the grading - if it's good enough to put back inside you, it's good enough to make a baby! What is your test date? xx

I second this! My clinic don’t give you the grades for this very reason x

Thank you! How do I sleep at night to encourage implementation? Is back or side better? Does it make a difference? 😆x

Thanks! Also find out tomorrow morning how many they can freeze. Think will be lucky if we get one we can freeze.

During this whole process it’s really made me realise how few fertilised eggs are good quality, some people seem to collect loads 20+ and they still only have 1-2 to freeze x

Yes it's often the case - it makes me wonder how anyone gets pregnant naturally!! xx

Honestly it baffles me! But equally I find it fascinating! We already have a 6 year old son naturally, he must be an absolute miracle! ⭐️ I can’t quite believe we managed to have him now we have gone through all this, feel very lucky x

Also I’m probably worrying for nothing and sorry TMI, but I’ve had quite loose stools since I got home from transfer 🙈 I’m worried the embryo will drop out with my bowel movements!? X

Don’t worry, absolutely won’t! Your cervix will be closed and the embryo will be stuck to your uterus wall. Think of it as a grain of sand in a peanut butter sandwich 🥪 xx

I’m over thinking this now but does sleeping position make a difference to it implanting? Like if I sleep on my back or left hand side etc? X

There are old wives tales that say sleep on your left side, but I slept on my front and it still implanted xx

Am suffering with loose stools since transfer and I also started Lubion yesterday in addition to cyclogest) which I was already taking) not sure if it’s the transfer or Lubion that’s causing it? X

Almost certainly the progesterone 😬❤️

Just got a call from the clinic and they’ve actually now frozen TWO embryos today!!!! I couldn’t believe it!

I burst into tears on the phone 🙈😂🥚

Was convinced we would only have one after yesterdays convo with them.

The good one from yesterday has continued to hatch and is a really good grade, and one other has now caught up and made it also to the same grade and hatching! So we now have two on ice ❄️ phew.

Takes the pressure off a bit if this transfer doesn’t stick, but keeping everything crossed it does! 🤞🏼X

That’s amazing news lovely!!I love it when you get good surprises like that! And it definitely does take the pressure off. Here’s hoping you won’t need them ❤️🥰 xx

Thank you! Yes such a nice surprise. I was disappointed at collection thinking I had so few eggs collected and this has made me feel so much better about things x
