Has anyone used melatonin supplements (3mg per day) for egg quality? I read a study that says it's showed good results but it's just one study and relatively new. Wondering if anyone else had had success with it?

I wanted to take when I was prepping for my second cycle but the doctor was against it. He was happy with me taking other supplements though
My doctor put me on 3mg after my last failed cycle so we shall see. Im also an insomniac and they have been amazing with sleep too so hopefully a win win.
Hey lovely. I took it for a while as I had read some good stuff too. But then I started to also read about how it can mess up your natural cycle (which made me feel that it wasn't having a completely positive impact) and that if you take it for too long your body stops producing it so it can cause problems later on. In the end I decided to chuck it away as it just felt like there was too much uncertainty and niggly worries about it xx

Thats what I ended up on - Ubiquinol plus a little extra vitamin D (on top of pregnacare) and some fish oil capsules which are rank but have some stuff in thats supposed to be good for embryo quality! I am a vitamin salesman dream hahaha xx
Have either of you tried the vegan omega 3 capsules? Same omegas and no fishy burps 😂 i bought mine from iHerb as i could get obes with both epa and dha in (the h&b ones just had dha). I couldn’t take the fishy burps and they also made me want to hurl! Xx

I took it before my ivf cycle, because it was in the book “it starts with the egg”. It didn’t cause me any issues and did help me sleep better. I think the only reasoning behind taking it, is simply because it improves sleep, thus improving the quality of your eggs. In the book “it starts with the egg” she only recommends taking it 2 weeks before egg collection. So that’s all I did and stopped immediately before transfer xx
