How much Progynova? FET

I am stressing myself out, hopefully unnecessarily, so thought I would ask here and hopefully get a bit of reassurance. Started on 6mg progynova a day but lining wasn’t reacting so they upped the dose to 8mg. It still didn’t thicken enough so they upped it again to 12mg a day. Thankfully we got a BFP, just waiting for the viability scan which is driving me mad after our last experience! However, I am now worrying that 12mg a day is a lot! Everything I read seems to be 6mg a day average! And I have read horror stories related to progynova use. Has anyone else been on 12mg a day and stayed on it until 9 weeks? Thank you :)

Hi lovely, congratulations on your BFP! I was similar to you; started on 8mg, upped to 10mg and ended up on 12mg. I also got a BFP and was on them until 12 weeks, no issues at all. I’m 20 weeks now ❤️🥰

The only thing I noticed was that my hair was really thick and not falling out at all, like not even 1 hair in the shower, and when I stopped taking it it just went back to normal. It freaked me out a bit but absolutely no problems with the baby.

Best of luck for your viability scan 🤞🏼❤️ Xx

Thank you so much, sometimes you just need to hear from someone that’s been there before! Now you mention it, I am not moulting anywhere near as much as I usually do! 😂 Huge congratulations on your pregnancy! Hope you are managing to enjoy it! ❤️ Xx

I know exactly what you mean!! I’ve asked many questions for reassurance on here ❤️

Yes don’t be scared when it goes back to normal!! My husband was loving it not clogging up the plug hole 😂

Thank you so much 🥰

The first few weeks waiting for scans was tough but once we’d seen bubba and heard the heartbeat I relaxed a bit, and just absolutely love it now.

Hope all goes smoothly for you xx

I had a bad time on Progynova (8mg) for my FET but that's because I have oestrogen dominance so it made me unwell and over-thickened my lining (clinic just put me on their standard and had to reduce it) - however even with that it was just a case of finding the right level vs progesterone and I could be on around 2-4mg with too many issues. No-one ever suggested you could have too much or that after my reaction it was actually bad for me or the embryo, it was probably more just about me not feeling sick and getting the lining to settle. I think it all depends on your unique hormone needs. If you feel ok and that's the level that got your lining to where it needed to be and got a BFP then that's probably the right level for you X

Hi Bobbins. Try not to worry too much, as you may need to stay on it until you are around 12/40wks pregnant. They will monitor you to ensure all is at the right level. Good luck! Diane
