When to test?

When does everyone’s clinic tell them to test? Mine say a full 2 weeks. So mine went in on the 2nd and my test day isn’t until the 16th. From what Iv seen on here it just seems a long time. Thank you. X

Thats pretty normal but does depend if its a day 3 or day 5 transfer. Some clinics do as early as 9dp5dt but thats often too early and I have seen people on here get positives as late as day 11 and 12. I personally would wait the 2 weeks as you know its a definitive answer then. My clinic is 14 days after a 5 day transfer. Good luck x

Thank you.

This one seems to be really dragging and feels like I have been waiting for weeks already. Think I just need to be patient. Xx

Literally the worst two weeks in the world! Just try and keep positive and resist testing early as believe me it doesn’t help at all! xx

It depends on what works for you. Knowing myself I just knew I preferred uncertainty or a negative over not testing at all. It's just not in my dna not to do anything. I wish it were as it may make for a more calm experience but it's just not how I'm built unfortunately 😅

So I've always tested very very early. And in my experience those early First Response Tests results were always right. Now whether the pregnancy sticks is another matter, but if there was a faint line it was a positive everytime. Though of course a LOT more often than not there was no line at all and it was heartbreaking everytime. Though not as much as miscarriages of course..

My IVF clinic did not include a blood test in the price. They just recommended I test at 10pd5dt. I did FRTs at 5dp5dt this time then had a blood test at a private clinic in London (much cheaper than my clinic) at 10dp5dt and repeated 48hrs later.

Hope it's a massive big fat positive! X

I’m trying not to test early but I’m really struggling. I think by the weekend I will have caved. Xx

Hello, I had my frozen embryo transfer today and I have been given a test day of 21st which is 11 days.

I had a successful fresh ivf cycle to conceive my son and I got my first faint positive at 5dp5dt. I had some spotting which prompted me to test early last time. I think I will be tempted to test on day 5 or 6 again this time!

Good luck to you x

Hello, I decided to test earlier than the recommended 2 week because I had a transfer that didn't work out and I waited the full 2 weeks to test. I was so sure that I was showing symptoms the first few days, so I wanted to know if it was failure to implant or a very early chemical. To be honest, I don't know if knowing would have helped at all.

It's kind of funny, my first transfer I tested early (BFP yay!) but the lines weren't progressing as fast as I thought they should, which was confirmed by a low HCG (37) on my test date (11DP5DT). I was a total mess for 2 weeks and was terrified the entire pregnancy. Thankfully, the HCG doubled nicely and I now have a beautiful little girl from that transfer.

So my second transfer I decided not to put myself through that ordeal and waited until test date (12DP5DT). When it was a BFN, I desperately wanted to know if it was an implant issue or a chemical, and I promised myself that I would test early from here on out.

My point is that there are pros and cons to both waiting and testing, and it's more of a personal choice. The 2WW and the whole process is so darn difficult, and there feels to be so many choices, so whichever one works for you is the better choice! Best of luck!!!

Hi 2ww buddy! It’s a real slog isn’t it?! I had a FET and my 5 day blastocysts went in on the 2nd too. I’ve been told to test on the 15th, so pretty similar to you. We can do this! Wishing you loads of luck 🍀 🤞X

My fresh transfer of 5 day embryo was 10dpt but all frozen were 14-15dpt. I tested at ~8dpt-10dpt and got accurate results (negatives and positives), although one was a chemical pregnancy but was still showing on test day so that wouldn’t have saved me any heartache even if I hadn’t tested early. I find testing on a day I can handle the outcome best, as long as it’s at least a week after transfer, helps me (like the weekend or an easier day at work etc.). You will probably keep on testing until test day and beyond though so can be anxious and cost a small fortune! Good luck 🤞🏽 🤗💕xxx

My blood test is 16dp5dt. I'll take a home pregnancy test one day before if AF doesn't come sooner.

I was told to test on day 11 post transfer. I didn’t test early the second time because I had such disappointment the first time. Testing on day 11 and getting a BFP I got a very strong line.

My clinic asks you to do a pee test at home at 13 days and go in for bloods at 14 days. It does seem so long and a lot of women get accurate results much sooner.

I think their reasoning is that even in extreme cases of late implantation etc, that date will give a definitive answer either way. Loads of luck xx
