I recently had a positive test result and wondered how do they (the clinic)/you measure how many weeks you are? Do you count from fertilisation day or from transfer day etc?
I know if it was a natural pregnancy they would count from the 1st day of your last period just wondered if this was different with an ivf cycle?

Congratulations!!There are a lot of online tools where you can put in your IVF transfer date (specify 3 or 5 day even ) and it will tell you your projected due date and how far along you are...what to expect is a good one!

They work it out by using fertilization date then adding 2 weeks as this would be the equivalent of first day of last period if was natural conception in a 28 day cycle. You can google a calculator too (which is probably easier)
For a frozen transfer of a 5 day blast, you would be considered 2 weeks 5 days on the day of transfer. I agree with the other ladies; the easiest thing is to search online for an IVF due date calculator that allows you to choose fresh or frozen and 3 or 5 day transfer, so you can calculate for your particular scenario.

I got all muddled with this. Don’t forget to add the day the embryo was 0, so depending on how old your embryo was count back the days to zero and then it’s 2 weeks before that as the start date. Turned out mine was bang on a 28 day normal starting period. And if in doubt use that. In the end I emailed the clinic and asked what date they had for me. Which tallied with what I’ve said.
When you get to your 12 week scan - the dating scan - the hospital take the date from the size of baby at that point, and not from your ivf dates, which I found really strange, but my hospital were adamant that was how they date you.
That depends on where you live and which hospital you are under, they all seem to have different ways of doing things! I’m on my second IVF pregnancy and both times dates have not been changed based on measurements (both measured ahead) as they say IVF dates are more accurate x
Congratulations :DThey will know for certain when they give you a viability scan. This is basically to check that you have a sac and a yolk which both = a baby 
They will measure the length of it and this will tell them in weeks and days how far along you are. I had my first scan at 6 weeks 1 day and he was measuring exactly that
