We’re top of the waiting list for our IVF 🙌🏽 Delighted, it’s sooner than expected!
We have our initial appointment in November over video, then a nurse appointment for me. Anyone a bit further on than us that can say what happens at these appointments or what’s next? I wish we knew more!
We’re in northern Scotland!

Hi bigcatfan congrats on making it to the top of the list 🙂
The initial appointments should be to talk about your medical history, initial consent forms and then a scan to review your ovaries, lining and probably take bloods. At that point you'll be given more information relating to your situation and details on what to expect next. It can be overwhelming and a lot to take in at times but I found this forum very useful and supportive at all stages.
I've just gone though our first cycle and am now in the two week wait (still feeling like a novice nonetheless lol) the terminology can get a little confusing so good luck and feel free to ask any questions at any time x
Thanks for your reply, this is really helpful. We have a video appointment first and they said after that is a nurse appointment. Huge well done for getting through your first cycle (I’m not sure if that’s the right thing to say but it’s a big deal and feel it deserves some recognition!), hope you get the news you want ❤️
Congratulations! Are you hoping to get it on ivf? Or have you already been to the fertility clinic and done all the investigations and just awaiting ivf? If the latter then for me it was quick! Offered to start the process the following month but as it was Xmas and January we opted for February, had I known covid was round the corner I’d have been on it quicker as it thoroughly delayed everything. Luckily we’re hopefully through that now. I’m sure they’ll talk you through everything during your first appointments, good luck!
We’re just awaiting our IVF treatment now. I’m terrified my weight creeps back up, I wanted to be the picture of health for starting but it also is so overwhelming, I don’t want to get stressed obsessing! I’m sorry your treatment was delayed, that must have been so frustrating and upsetting. Thanks for your reply!
I know what you mean, but I’ve been on and off trying to lose weight with pregnancy making things difficult in the middle. In the end I think if you’re eating healthily it’s all you can do. Thanks, it was frustrating at the time but the one good thing was blastocysts were created and frozen and they don’t get any older
Hi there. I’d also say to take a pen and paper with you to each appointment, even the telephone ones, as there’s a lot of information given to you at once. It’s easy to forget whether they said to inject in your tummy or leg, what time of day to do it etc and I found my notes were so useful to look back on. Good luck!
