16dp5dt Brown bleeding for 48 hours but lines still dark

I don’t know what is going on. I bled brown blood from 13dp5dt until 15dp5dt and also had cramping. It felt just like a period. Woke up today 16dp5dt so convinced it was over. Did a test on the off chance and there seems to be slight progression. Could this be an ectopic? Could I have miscarried but still have HCG in my system? Or could it be one of the embryos failing and another one sticking? (I had 3 transferred).

My beats are low but doubled so far:

11dp5dt 21.2

13dp5dt 49.8

Going for third beta tomorrow. Anyone got any idea what might be happening so I can prepare?

Had a chemical last cycle but the lines got nowhere near this dark.

Hi lovely, I have just put this response to another lady asking similar…I had brown blood the night before my BFP with some cramping and the same again a couple of days before my first scan which was around 7week.Yes the pessaries can definitely be known for that I changed to the back way as felt I was getting Irritated. Mine was put down to implantation.

In my case it wasn’t anything to worry about and currently 37w2days. My cramping was never painful but felt it was period pain wanting to kick in so if it does get painful or you see red blood I would have rang EPU xxx

Looking at your test lines they look really strong. Hopefully your beats will continue to go up xx

Thanks for your response. My cramping wasn’t painful but it did feel like a period, but the blood was brown like thick brown discharge. Lasted 48 hours and has stopped now. If I had miscarried would my test still be darker today? Or is it possible I lost one of the embryos and still have one implanting? I had 3 in. Or is it possible it could be ectopic? Thank you

Mine lasted a few days so it good it’s cleared up now. Tbh lovely I wouldn’t like to comment on the rest as I don’t honestly know. When I rang about the brown blood the only thing they mentioned to look out for was pain in the tips of my shoulders and a pain in my bum. When I looked this up it was signs of an eptopic. It’s good that the pains were not painful and the bleeding has stopped so rest easy and all the best for your scan xx

The hCG going up is a good sign but it's still somewhat low. That might mean it's in the wrong spot. Did you have 3 or 5 day embryos implanted?

I had 3 day 5 blasts although one was a very early blastocyst, the others were a 4BB and a 2AB. The early one wasn’t graded as it was only just starting to expand before the transfer

That's good quality. I wouldn't worry about the spotting just focus on the hCG. Hopefully it will be up again the next time you test. When is your scan?

Yes it’s nerve wracking. My next one is tomorrow through ultrasound direct but won’t get the results until at least Tuesday 🙁. What day are you on? Have you had any betas yet? Do you have a picture of your tests?

I'm on day 15p5dt. I had a 3AA and a 6AB transferred. This is my day 12 test. Much darker than the other ones. I haven't tested again since I'm out of tests. I've only had the one hCG done yesterday. I wish I had more done sooner but I'm not near my clinic anymore and relying on my regular baby doc.

No symptoms yet really other than being extra snappy to my husband, and quite tired. Other than that I don’t really feel pregnant which is worrying me, but my tests are still showing progression. Got my third beta today. How are you?

Yes, looks like progress. Maybe it's the little one that was behind. I started to get tired today but maybe it's all the progesterone. I'm grumpy at my husband too 😅 he deserves it.

I took another test during the day when my bladder wasn't full and didn't have time to build up a lot of hCG. It immediately showed up and was darker than the test line. That's my best one yet and it's better than my morning urine tests. Hopefully that's a good sign.

Yes my test line is darker than my control line today, hopefully it’s the start of a dye stealer. Got my third beta done today but a long wait until Tuesday for the result! Have you got a picture of your test? Praying for us both 🙏

No not yet. My results didn’t arrive today I’m furious. Had the blood test on Sunday. Apparently they can take upto 7 days but every other time it’s arrived the next day. Never using Ultrasound Direct again. Did you get your result?

That's crazy! These waits are torture. I had to wait 3 days because they were closed on the weekend. It came back at 1600+ (I forget the exact number) 14dp. That makes me feel better but at the same time I have nothing to compare it to. Are the numbers going up or down? I have no clue. And why do I hardly have symptoms still? They don't want me to test until Friday again but I'm going to tomorrow. I have to know if it's climbing appropriately.

That’s a great number! I’d be delighted with that. If you look at the chart I’ve attached it’s well within range! Don’t worry about symptoms, I’ve spoken up lots of pregnant ladies recently who confirmed they had no symptoms until 7-8 weeks, including one lady who is pregnant with twins. The beta doesn’t lie, I think you can safely say you are pregnant 🥰

Thanks! That makes me feel better. Maybe I'll have symptoms soon. Having had a miscarriage in the past and now doing IVF has turned me into a wreck. I have a scan next Wednesday so hopefully that will relieve my fears.

Have you kept testing at home?

Yes I tested yesterday, got 2-3 weeks on the CB digital, but I’m worried about my FRER progression. To me the test line is looking lighter and thinner 🙁

I think they still look pretty dark. The level must be going up or it would disappear pretty quick I would think.

Hey! I had this at 5 weeks, 6 weeks and again at 9 weeks. The doc said it was likely the pessaries I was on irritating my cervix and was nothing to worry about. There is a baby growing inside you so things grow and stretch super quickly which could feel like period pains. I know it was hard, I was convinced I was miscarrying every time, but try to relax and trust your doc. 🙂
