low beta hcg after IVF day 5 fresh transfer

Got my first beta back on 13dp5dt and it was only 167. I am spiraling because this number is considered low. Googling everything did not help because most of the research agrees that it is too low. Doing a second beta on Monday (16dp5dt) and am so anxious. What are the odds this pregnancy will be viable? 3.5 years in. 2 egg retrievals, a miscarriage and many failed transfers. Really need this one to work out!

I know this worry myself as I have been there too. In my last pregnancy my level was 155 at 15dpt so considerably lower than yours as you should be up to around 330 by then if it doubles as it should. We made it to 7 weeks in that pregnancy but unfortunately had a MC. Will never know why exactly but I later found I have high NK cells. Keep the faith and take every day as it comes xx

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s such a hard journey. I am trying to remain hopeful but it’s so hard considering it’s hard to find many examples of women with low hcg having successful pregnancies. Hoping for better numbers tomorrow!

Hey, first of l congrats! That’s positive news! Don’t lose hope and please try to avoid googling as it can only give general guidelines - you might be 13dp but your embryo may have implanted slightly later etc etc.

I had very low hcg levels, lower than yours from memory, and my levels doubled at the next blood test. It was STILL considered on the low side, but the important thing was it was doubling. Now have a beautiful 2.5 year old.

My fingers are crossed for you, it’s not over yet!

The starting number establishes pregnancy which you are , it's this 2nd beta that will determine the possible outcome so hold on with Hope until then . X

Hi LakeLady. That’s not so bad. Fingers crossed next one doubles. Diane

my first at 9dp5dt was 30, it doubled and then doubled again but was still considered low. My son is 18 months this week. Will be thinking of you x

finally heard back from the clinic with my second beta. It was 488 at 16dp5dt so 3 days after my first beta. They are satisfied with that and not requiring me to do anymore hcg tests. They booked me for an early ultrasound on September 5th. So relieved but can’t help but continue to be a bit on edge with them lower numbers. I just have to relax and let the positive vibes take over!

Well I’m still waiting for my early ultrasound and very anxious because I barely have any symptoms. Just some fatigue here and there! Your levels sound good to me though because if they double you’d be in the 300’s at 14dp5dt which by clinic likes to see! Are they sending you for another beta check in 48-72 hours? This beta hell game isn’t fun and waiting for the first ultrasound is even worse I think. It’s killing me! It was at my first early ultrasound last time that they told me there was no heartbeat.

I know how you feel! I did have a second beta which was 294 so it did double but i feel the same in that i honestly dont really have symptoms and think to myself how can i be pregnant if i feel nothing apart from some cramping every now and then (which could be a good or a bad thing so not overly reassuring).I asked to have another beta test and then we will see from there.

I hope it works out for you- its such a stressful time and i also had a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks a few years back- one of the moat awful experiences.

Ok I’m glad they are doing another beta. I wish they would have done that with me! Such a hard process, especially after a loss. I can’t stop thinking that the same thing will happen with this pregnancy. The low beta in the beginning really didn’t help my nerves… yikes!
