This is so random and can’t find much on the internet. Just before my bfp I got some mouth ulcers flaring up, probably ate something with spices in it and now randomly I still get them but not sure it’s the spices even so my lip randomly swelled up like I’ve had Botox. Any ideas? Concerns? Experience? Advice? Thanks so much 😬

Please discuss with your GP. I presume you have no history of auto immune disease? Best to run it by your GP so they can check you are feeling well in yourself. X

Thank you for your reply. I don’t have any history of aid. Good idea to check with GP. Spoke to the fertility clinic as I’m still under them until my scan they said it could be just hormones. Xx

I had mouth ulcers in early pregnancy. I'm sure it's on the never ending list of pregnancy ailments. I think my body thought it was a checklist. If you're worried speak to your GP or midwife so they can put your mind at ease. Congratulations on your BFP.

Hey. Thanks for your reply. That is interesting. Did you find it triggered when you ate something particular? Just filled in the maternity form for GP but until scan I’m not released to them. Which I don’t know if I will get there due to some bleeding. Going to post to ask the community. Something just feels wrong. X

No, I don't think so. I pretty much lived on mashed potatoes and toast for the first 12 weeks. I was vomiting quite a bit so that probably didn't help with all the acid.

Contact your clinic. Bleeding doesn't always mean game over but best to get it checked. I had heavy bleeding at the start and now have a healthy 3 month old. Apparently it's more common with IVF. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. 🤞 X

Oh no vomiting sounds awful. I just nauseousness and that’s bad in itself.

I fancy mashed potatoes now 😝

Thank you for your support and well wishes. I contacted them and they said they can’t do anything but for me to wait a week for my scan and get bed rest. Going to try and describe it on a post now and see if anyone else has had similarities. Oh wow. Do you know what caused your bleeding? Xx

They never worked out why. Just assumed I must have had a subchorionic haematoma that came away.

Really hope it all works out for you. X
