I had OHSS after my EC. My Dr saw it before and delayed my Transfer to the next cycle. I didn’t know why she delayed it until suddenly bloating and pain came. It was horrendous and I was in so much pain that I was just hunched everywhere I went . Try and drink lots of water, it’ll pass soon. Mine took a week or two. It’s good you’ve been admitted, hopefully it can help with the pain. All the best and congratulations on your pregnancy. Hopefully after this little hump, you’ll get to soak it all in.

Ow lovely, I’ve got OHSS too and after my positive pregnancy test, it exasperated the OHSS and I was also admitted to hospital a few weeks ago. I was admitted because I felt like my ovaries had burst and I was being violently sick. The only thing that eased the pain was morphine and IVF paracetamol plus the anti-sickness. I was absolutely worn out so I totally feel you. They’ll be looking after you there so you’re in the right place. You need to keep up your strength so keep eating little and often and keep drinking lots of water and milk too.

I’m a few weeks on and my ovaries are slowly healing, reducing in size but it can take some time. I’m not in discomfort anymore, that has eased but I am still very bloated (I look months pregnant when I’m only just gone 9). There’s not much they can do to speed it along other than to take pain meds (which are safe), drink 3L or more of water (water is making me a little nauseous at the moment so I mix in lemon juice) and a 1L of milk (maybe a little too much for me so I have an actimal every morning and maybe two cups a day).

I was worried about my babies but I was reassured that it won’t effect them and it hasn’t done so I hope that reassures you.

Rest up, you’ll be okay 💗 xx

Ow I’m so sorry to hear that ❤️

I was given antibiotics (Augmentin) for ten days when they found fluid around my ovaries as I ended up with an infection diagnosed after my first hospital stay. For the first few days it continued to make me violently sick (constant for 27 hours at its worst) but eventually, that fluid has gone and things have settled so hopefully that will be the same thing for you too. You’re in the best hands, so just try and keep calm and trust in their help.

Drink lots of water, the milk helps too (weird as it’s heavy but it has helped me). I’ve just had a scan this morning and my ovaries are still swollen so it really does just take some time.

Thinking of you ❤️ Xx

I had OHSS in my early pregnancy too. Just as the others have said omg its awful! The pain, never felt anything like it. The only thing that helped me was IV pain relief and sickness in hospital. I was admitted 3 times in total. Oh and rest. Lots and lots of rest!

It seems never ending at the time but my little baby is 9months old now and its flown. He’s happy and healthy with no affects from me having had OHSS.

Hang on in there. You’re a warrior 💪🏼

Hi, I’m glad in the right place. The doc said it can last 14 weeks 🤦‍♀️ Iv got a baby scan on Friday I can’t wait to see my baby again to make sure everything is okay. The pain is awful; but I really hope it will pass soon and I can enjoy my pregnancy xxx

Hi Charley. So sorry to hear this, but I'm sure once you've had some fluids you will start to improve. Your pregnancy will be quite safe, just keep drinking and taking paracetamol for the pain, or whatever you have been prescribed. Hopefully, you will soon be home to continue with your pregnancy. make sure too, that you don't get constipated, as it can be painful when your motions pass by your sore ovaries. Thinking of you.
