Stopping clexane at 9 weeks pregnant

Hi

I was wondering if anyone else has been advised to stop taking 20mg Clexane at 9 weeks pregnant?

I am I little worried about stopping it as I have previously had two early miscarriages and I have the MTHFR gene.

I think it depends on the reason you are taking Clexane. I have acquired thrombophilia, so I must take it during all my fertility treatments (including during stimulation, to avoid blood clotting) and continue until the end of the pregnancy (if I ever get pregnant).On the other hand, some clinics prescribe it as a co-adjuvant for implantation, similarly to steroids (heparin has also an anti-inflammatory action), and, in that case, you can stop once the pregnancy has progressed enough.

I think you should discuss this, and your concerns, with the doctor/midwife that is treating you.

I was on clexane for this FET just because it was something else to try, don’t even know if I have any blood clotting issues the consultant just said let’s give it a go. I stopped at 8 weeks when my injections ran out went went on to aspirin. Maybe that’s an option for you?
