3rd HCG test, from 139 to 227, worried!!!!!!

Hello,

I tested my HCG again today for a third time, on 16dp5dt, and got 227. Has anyone else had a number this low at around this time and ended up with a viable pregnancy? I'm concerned that the rate of growth is slowing.

Our first test was 76, then 139, and now 227. Our clinic is NOT replying to us which is so annoying.

I am exactly 5 weeks today, so I don't know if 227 is just way too low.

EDIT: Sorry did not mention, tests have been performed every 48 hours.

Your HCG doubles every 48-72 hours and I think you’ve had it done with a 48 hour gap right? So whilst it isn’t exactly double, it’s close enough and if it’s still rising, then I’d take that as a positive sign. Are you repeating them again or will you wait for your first scan? Thank you, yes these have been every 48 hours almost exactly. Our frickin clinic hs not replied to us since Monday, so we don't know really what to do. I'm sure we will test again in another 48 hours and I guess will have to see if they want to schedule a scan. xo

From what I’ve heard the numbers should double every 2-3 days. Your numbers seem to be heading in that direction.

And this suggests that the numbers themselves are fine for 5 weeks. verywellfamily.com/what-are...

Hopefully your clinic will give you further advice but I suspect they will say wait another few days and do another test (maybe give it 3 days this time?), or hang out for your viability scan.

Ivf is a never ending waiting game, but stay positive- I don’t think there’s any reason not to be xx

I can't help much Lux as I'm still chasing that elusive BFP 🙄 BUT I guess as the goal is doubling every 48-72 hours, if you had this latest test 72 hours after your last test it MIGHT have doubled by then?? (I'm assuming you did it pretty much 48 hours after the previous one). So maybe that margin will be enough?? I really don't know Lovely, but I'm hoping so 🤞😍 Can only imagine how stressful this is for you guys 💚

I am just very worried that 227 is too low for 5 weeks pregnant.

I think that's similar to my numbers. I had 117 on day 11 and 228 on day 13. Like others have said - once it's over 50 and roughly doubling every 2 to 3 days its going in the right direction. Eat lots of good stuff and cup a heart around your tummy with your hands. You are pregnant and so deserve to try and enjoy this. Sending you calm growing vibes to get through to seeing that heartbeat

The consensus is HCG should always double every 48 to 72 hours but there are sometimes outliers! Its still rising but perhaps not double on either repeat test so speak with your clinic. Praying its a good outcome for you? Is your scan booked? xx

It’s still within the range. Only time and continuing monitoring HCG will tell you how it will progress. When HCG is 1000 you can do US.m to check for a gestacional sac, but too early for heartbeat. Fingers crossed!
