IVF clinics abroad regulator

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all ok.

We are researching IVF clinics abroad but struggling to work out if they are regulated. Does anyone know which body regulates clinics abroad and how I can find this information out.

It's difficult looking for the right clinic, does anyone have any tips they could share please?

Hi. I could be completely wrong, but I don’t think there would be a body in the UK which regulates fertility clinics overseas. Each country should have their own regulator and regulations (you would hope) - although some might be more stringent than others. Does the HFEA website have info/guidance about using fertility clinics overseas?

Hi thanks for your message. Sorry I meant who regulates clinics in Europe. Like we have HEFA for UK clinics, who is the equivalent for European clinics. Before taking the step to go abroad we want to ensure the clinic is licensed etc

I think that each individual country should have its own equivalent of the HFEA?

I used the egg donation friends website clinic finder tool to narrow my search right down. I then had a man initial zoom call with 2 then chose one. More than happy with my choice 😊
