BETA HCG results. Can I have some advice please

I had a beta blood test for some peace of mind after some brown spotting (that happened on one occasion), but had no more blood since.

My beta is 20801iu/l.

Is this a good number ? My Dr said it's high and I don't need to repeat the beta and to wait for my viability scan on the 3rd or August.

What were all your ladies beta results around 20 days after transfer (20dp5dt)

Xx

I would personally repeat it to check its rising in the correct manner....doubling every 48-72hrs. Not that I'm suggesting g your numbers arent good.....its impossible to say a particular level is ok as it can vary so much!xx

I dont sorry. I had betas done much earlier and I was having twins so they are usually a bit higher than singletons. Mine were

9dp5dt - 251

11dp5dt - 430

13dp5dt - 968 update

I also have my viability scan on the 3rd august. Those beta levels look fine to me mine was 1026 on day 14. Beta levels are quite variable so not very reliable with just one racing if you want to see a trend you should repeat 48 hours to check it is doubling

I think it's up you. Would seeing the level increase make you feel more at ease until the scan, which is a long wait! I guess it is reassuring that the dr has no concern over your level and in fact thinks it's good. If it's to stress you I would get another test just to put your mind at ease. You've had a difficult journey to get here do whatever makes this easier Xx

That sounds like a nice high level to me. My clinic have never even offered HCG tests you just do a home kit and then you wait for your scan. Whilst I understand the need to constantly know things are going in the right direction (been there a number of times) in my experience getting results never really puts your mind at rest and if for some reason your numbers hadn't suddenly doubled perfectly it would then up being even more of a worry.

Ive always been a 'I need to know whats going on person' but throughout my IVF and pregnancy life I have learnt that actually especially with IVF pregnancies you never do stop worrying and so often an additional test you hope that will help can just lead to more worries or doubts, and a good result doesn't calm your mind much you then worry whats happening the next day!! You are going to need to be patient and try not to stress for the sake of you and your baby over the coming 9 months so maybe now is a time to start trying to put that into practice?

I am not saying don't test - everyone else seems to suggest its a good idea - I guess I have a slightly more negative view on these things and think self protection is most important because its not like you will have the good news its all going up and suddenly stop worrying about everything!

masses of luck those are cracking levels so no reason why everything isnt perfect xx

I did mine 15dp5dt (796 IU/L) and 17dp5dt (1428 IU/L). Up by a factor of 1.85 over the 2 days (ie not quite doubled) which is within normal range. Now 11+1 and all OK so far 😊

The numbers vary really massively between pregnancies so for complete reassurance I agree with others testing again 2-3d after the first would be ideal, although your number looks fine. Xx

That's a great level. betabase.info/chart/basic/s... according to this, the average for 25 dpo (which is 20dp5ft for us IVF ladies) is only around 5000. Don't sweat it, you're fine. 💪 After 1000 they double at a slower rate so I wouldn't want you to freak out unnecessarily at a repeat test. You've graduated from the testing stage, congrats! On you go to the scanning stage. Exciting and absolutely terrifying. 😁😘
