I just wanted to give a quick update on my beta HCG results, hoping this might be helpful to some ladies. I’ve been so worried that my hcg results were too high but lots of ladies in this forum has reassured me it’s all ok!! Thank you so much for this. So in case anyone is in my situation worrying about this, my results were
10dp 5dt = 612
12dp 5dt = 1876
13dp 5dt = 2584
From what I have searched, there is no absolute baseline number that is correct and it’s ok as long as the number doubles every 2-3 days. Also high beta doesn’t mean you have twins as I’ve found some ladies with beta levels similar to mine and had a singleton. I’ve put one embryo back myself. If I am wrong, please correct me here ladies!
It’s still early days and there’s nothing much I can do now until my scan in December! Maybe I will do HCG test every week for reassurance?

Heya congrats looks like great numbers there! You are right on the twins point - my levels were lower and I am having twins!
I wouldn’t necessarily worry about having weekly hcg tests now as after 6 weeks it’s pretty much accepted that the level can’t tell you anything and the doubling time slows right down x
😍😍😍 of course, been thinking about you and praying for you everyday! That’s really really good to hear. Fingers crossed, hope it’s our time this time❤️❤️
Thank you so much!! Just can’t wait till December comes.. after that emotional 2ww, now this! Wish you best of luck with you scan, fingers crossed!!!!! ❤️
Mine were even higher and I was worried as well as were outside of the range for week 4, 5 when I did the tests. They doubled and that’s was important the consultant said and that stronger results are nothing to worry about. I stupidly did a digital in week 5 and got 2-3 instead of 3+ a couple of days earlier and freaked out. It turned out my hcg was too high too pick up properly ( hook effect) and bloods came doubling. I am 8w now, still a while to go and still apprehensive, does it ever stop?
Snuggling, thank you so much for this info, it’s really helpful and reassuring at the same time. Also thanks so much for letting me know about clearblue!! I decided to test today (15dp5dt) and it gave me 3+ which implies 5+ week when I’m only in week4. Only a few hours ago, i was thinking of ordering more of these to monitor the situation every now and then. It’s really good you let me know about this hook effect!! I guess at this stage, hcg level may not mean much anymore and I should wait for the scan. I don’t have any symptoms yet.
Congratulations on your milestone so far! I know what you mean, I constantly have things to worry about.. I wish you continue to have happy and healthy pregnancy! xx
I also got first 3+ at 4 weeks. After week 5 I stopped doing any pregnancy tests ( after I got 2-3 and worried it was chemical again) and booked an early scan at 6w2 days and we could see the heartbeat. I know it was early but the consultant said with ivf we know the exact dates abd combined with strong results we should see it. I wish you all the best too and less worry
Thank you, I’m so happy I found someone similar! It’s really reassuring. I’m in week5, so worried about everything. I have a scan booked in week7 but so tempted to go for another one in week 6.. how frequent were your scans? Also did you have any symptoms from week 5? Do you have morning sickness and if yes, when did that start? I don’t have any symptom apart from indigestion so am worried!
Sorry for the late reply. I didn’t have any symptoms at all. I started feeling nauseous week 6 and first with heartburn then with bitter feeling/taste. Then nausea on and off and some days would get worse, some better, larger breasts and nipples but hurt only in the evening. Extremely tired towards late afternoon and sleeping lots. I constantly worry as the symptoms are not consistent and I heard there’s no rule but it doesn’t help worry. Hope your early scan goes well!
