Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has received any guidance regarding continuing to take Omega - 3 and Q-10 after transfer?

Many thanks

Omega 3 should be fine… I wasn’t told to stop taking that. Q-10 is for egg quality so I’ve stopped taking that xx

It depends on the type of omega 3. Fish liver oil - definitely not safe due to vitamin A. Some fish oil is OK if low in vitamin A. Vegan omega 3 does not contain vitamin A so that is safest (I use the algal one as closest to fish omega 3s).

CoQ10 is semi-safe in pregnancy - it is used for certain conditions (eg pre-eclampsia) but overall the safety has not been fully confirmed in pregnancy. You should be fine in 2ww but best to stop after a positive test unless told otherwise by your clinic/healthcare provider. xx

Thank you so much. It never occurred to me about Vitamin A in the Omega 3. I think I'll phone the clinic tomorrow.

Omega 3 is good to take after embryo transfer, but I'd stop taking C0Q10 as that's used for egg quality xx

My Dr said CoQ-10 was fine to keep taking post transfer. I kept it up incase I needed to do another cycle.

Hello- I was told I was ok to keep taking Ubiquinol (CoQ10) and that although it doesn't say there is reasearch on taking it in pregnancy they generally say this about most supplements since trials on pregnant women are not advised in general. I took it until around 12 weeks. I think the reasoning was that my body needed all the energy it could get while building a baby. I also kept taking Omega-3 but in the second trimester I was changed to a different type of supplement with more DHA.
