1 day past collection and I was expecting more fertilized. I know this is a good number but with the number cut so much, its making me feel so nervous ๐
21 collected, 9 fertilized???? - Fertility Network UK
21 collected, 9 fertilized????
Hi Li12
I completely understand how you feel, my results were similar
19 eggs
11 fertilised (they said over the phone but actually 9 in the end, I didnt know until I got the full report)
1 stopped growing day 3
1 stopped at morula day 5
7 blasts
4 good enough to freeze -
1st FET hopefully this month ๐ค
The point is the numbers at this early stage dont mean much, so many of the eggs could have been immature. I was so on edge right up until the day 5 call cos you just never know
9 fertilised is a brilliant result so try to stay positive....and as they say - it only takes 1!
Best of luck x
This is such a roller coaster isn't it ๐. I literally had the call before writing my worries....but after seeing your reply and have a sit down think, actually I'm starting to feel better about it.At my last follical scan, they did say 15 looked a good size, and there was another cluster of smaller eggs. So if I look at it that 9 out of 15 have fertilised, the numbers feel much better! ๐ฅฒ Im still a nervous wreak though ๐.
Thats a great end result for you!!
Best of luck ๐คxx
Hi,
I to had the same stresses, 21 eggs collected, I ended up with 6 frozen and one fresh transfer. Itโs scary to see the numbers decline rapidly but this seems normal from what Iโve seen. I got pregnant on my first transfer so donโt be disheartened, your results are very good.
Wishing you the best on your journey!
It is so scary and so soon to hear it. Nothing prepares you for any of this journey ay.As I say In my reply above, Im seeing through to a positive (ish) but I'm going to be a nervous wreak for the next few day I'm sure.
Wow congratulations to you, thats a really positive story. And you had unexplained infertility like me.
Thank you for the reassurance xx
I feel you. I had 18 collected and 7 fertilized. I was shocked at the drop off, but in the end I have 3 blasts in the freezer. So all is not lost - hang in there (I know itโs so hard!!)
On my second round I had 25 eggs collected and actually 15 fertilised but by day 5 I only had 2 embryos good enough. 1 was frozen and 1 was transferred which is my now 3 1/2 year old daughter so it really does only take a good one x
20 eggs collected. 18 mature. 10 fertilised. I was devastated that that stage, thought I would lose another 50% at each stage. But we ended up with 8 embryos good enough to freeze. It's such a roller coaster but you just don't know until the end. Fingers crossed for you, but all looks positive right now x
I had 12 eggs collected and 7 fertilized. I was also surprised by the drop off, but this seems fairly normal! I hadn't thought much about this point in the process, but found it the hardest 5/6 days of the whole experience! Ended up with 4 blastocysts...had two transferred and ended up pregnant with one! Good luck xx
Please don't be disheartened. Those are really good numbers.Only mature eggs have the potential to fertilise but even then, many won't.
I had 8 eggs collected on Monday which was a high number for me and I was thrilled to hear they were all mature. Unfortunately, only three fertilised. It's a horrible waiting game isn't it. You'll be fine x
I had similar as well, only 9 collected and 3 of the fertilised. Find out tomorrow if they survived to the blastocyst stage and if they are ready for biopsy. The waiting is the worst through all of this :/ x
All the very best. I think it is best to keep working. I was home yesterday and really sad for most of the say after the embryologist called. I wonder whether my ovaries are only capable of producing so many eggs fit for fertilisation. Even though more mature eggs collected this time, the same number fertilised as those with previous collections when less eggs collected. Wishing you the very best
Hey! I had 19 collected, 2 looked immature from the beginning, 9 fertilised (this point I was so scared for the next call), 6 by day 5 but one was taken to day 6 but didnโt make it, so 5 embryos frozen. (Was a freeze all round). After being so so scared at fertilisation rate I was overjoyed with 5 and cried my eyes out with sheer relief.. Try not to compare to others numbers, itโs very unique depending on your own situation, the protocol and how you responded to it etc, also so many women who do more than one round get varying numbers from one round to the next.
Of course you feel like more would be better but itโs all about quality.
I know the waiting is torture - Iโve resorted to playing a computer game as I couldnโt even concentrate on reading or anything so if youโve got anything to take your mind off it a bit just do it! Good luck xx
Remember it only takes 1 I had 17 eggs collected, 9 fertilised, 5 made it to day 3, 2 made it to day 5 and were transfered. 2 heart beats in week 6, 1 heart bear at week 8, 1 healthy baby girl born dull term in Feb I will keep my fingers crossed for you
Thank you everyone for your support and kindness ๐ i should have turned to this group sooner ๐.So after a nervous couple of days, I have just been told at day 3, we have 8 good quality eggs. No.9 still going but not expect to make it.
Saturday is my fresh transfer if all goes well ekkkkk ๐๐
Sending you all the best of love and hope in your journey xxx
Im sure you'll hear a lot of people say "it only takes one" but that is true, out of 6 donor eggs only 1 of mine fertilised, I was heartbroken at that time, one and only chance, I'm now 14 weeks. Wishing you all the best of luck!
