I should make you aware that if you are looking into options to try to conceive, our clinical policy is that for women aged 45 and over, treatment is carried out with IVF using donor eggs. The reason for our age cap is that we want to give you the best chance of having a healthy and successful pregnancy, and unfortunately we have never achieved a successful live birth for a patient using her own eggs over the age of 44. As we reach the early 40s, the quality of our eggs takes such a steep decline and most pregnancies unfortunately result in miscarriage, so using a donor egg option we can explore success rates in the 50-55% range, compared with the <1% range using own eggs.
At least these were honest

Hey, Thanks for sharing. I'm in that age group and have had similar conversations that there really is no point in using my own eggs, so we are going straight to donor. Good they were honest about never having a live birth.
Spoke to another clinic just now again on harley str just to register and i told her what i was told and she asked if that was ..XXXX...another name clininc , i said no and she said because she worked for them before. And she said that ..XXXX.. clinic really didnt have live birth age at 44 for 8 years. I couldnt believe as this is named as one of best.
When I went to speak to the clinic, I am currently with, they told me this more or less and suggested embryo banking because I still had a chance albeit a small one at 43.
Yes, a lot of clinics will not treat over 44, as success rates are so. Gosh I had no idea when I first looked at this, I had a gynae opinion online in examination just interview they told me between 1- 3,% natural that is actually better than ivf ,
