Well not the best fertilisation call this morning (I truly DREAD these...). Of the 5 miracle eggs we got yesterday only 2 were mature and fertilised (the eggs from the small follicles weren't quite there π). So, could be much better but could be worse too... π’ What's stressing me most now is the fact our clinic doesn't really do Day 3 transfers π- seems to be Day 5 or nothing. I'm just not at all hopeful we'll have anything to transfer on Saturday βΉπ€¦ββοΈ The embryologist will give us an update on Thurs... Hope everyone is hanging in there xx

They are the worst calls
2 is good though - that's 2 chances!! Got everything crossed for you my lovely xxx
Hang in there hun, try and keep yourself busy if you can. We are all behind you rooting for you, come in embies, please keep developing π xxx
Hey, this was really similar to me back in March this year. I had 6 eggs collected, 5 mature, 2 fertilised and my clinic would also not do a Day 3 transfer, only Day 5. I found it really stressful having just the 2 being pushed to Day 5 so can very much relate to your post! Wishing you luck with getting a good result on Day 5 and also hope you manage to switch off over these 5 awful days of waiting!
It's hard isn't it? My clinic don't have a blanket 'we won't do Day 3 transfers' policy but basically, from what the embryologists say, they won't do them (and haven't done one for years, they say)! π I mean, I know they know FAR far more than I do, obvs, and I do trust their expertise... but there doesn't seem to be a definitive stance on this. I suppose from the clinic's side, they don't want to do a transfer (with all the scheduling disruption etc π) if the chances are minimal, and yes of course I know a blast has a better chance of a viable pregnancy than a day 3 embryo. But I don't think the evidence is definitive for all age groups, and for me, frankly, the impact of having nothing to transfer (again) would just be awful. But I also realise that as I haven't tried ICSI with my husband's sperm before (long story), there would be value in seeing how those embies develop (or don't) beyond Day 3. What a messy business π€¦ββοΈ xx
Still hope ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»πππππππππ come on little π₯ π₯
Fingers crossed they make it π§‘π€
Hang in there. I had only 1 egg collected and also called the doctor about 3 day transfer....worried that I will have nothing in 5 days. He also shot me down saying no point torturing me with 2ww if the embryo won't even make it to day 5. He said their lab is very good and at least I would know, if my eggs can make a blast or not. I did get a blast in 5 days out of that one egg but not suitable for PGS test. It was probably abnormal because I got a BFN from it but hey, I did get pregnant exactly a year later naturally. So 1 egg is really all it takes. Hopefully this is the one!
Aww dont worry, you only need one. I had 9 eggs, 6 fertilised, 3 made it overnight. Turned out they were all really good and one made it to blastocyst. Stay postive x
It is great you have at least 2 embryos and I can definitely understand that it will be a anxious wait. Sending lots of positive vibes your way and will have you in my prayers ππΎ
I think waiting is one of the hardest parts of the process - I have my fingers crossed for you. It just takes one, you have a fighting chance. Sending you lots and lots of luck xx
