Is it possible to have 3 blighted Ovums?

In the last year I have had 2. One expected due to bleeding the other at 7 weeks with all pregnancy symptoms!

I am now pregnant again and petrified it will happen again. Think the scary thing is you have no idea its happening you just think all is ok. They say its rare to have 2 but obvs I have.

My bloods have been tested they said they are fine. Does anyone know the cause of a blighted ovum as they only told me bad luck, they can't explain

Hi I had 2 confirmed blighted ovums in a year one at 6 weeks and one at 7 weeks. Ive had 5 miscarriages in total but the others were all early bleeds before 6 weeks scan. I believe BO main cause is chromosome so either bad egg or sperm or both. I went on to have IVF and it turned out my husband had high sperm DNA fragmentation so that could have been my cause. I'm now 10 weeks pregnant after hubby took some special supplements (menevit) for 3 months prior to ICSI. I was still terrified until I had a scan at 6 weeks. Are you able to have an early scan to put your mind at rest? I also did HCG blood tests this time as with BO the levels are often not quite right and that helped ease my mind until scan. xx

Thank you so much for replying to me.

I will be allowed at my early pregnancy assessment suite at the hospital to get an early scan. Sadly they have never offered me bloods whilst pregnant. My first one, I just felt something wasn't right, started spotting/ bleeding and my symptoms never really peaked. My 2nd one, I was exhausted from word go, felt really really sick and got 3+ at 4 weeks 2 days ( this imp should have been an indicator that levels may have been high)

My tests this time seems normal enough,.

I am going to phone epas on Friday if all is still well. My hubby had been on supplements so hoping that helped etc.

Thank you again for replying to me it is such an anxious time and wish you all the best with your pregnancy xx

I'm in UK and did my blood hcg as a finger prick test ordered from medichecks.com. With my other losses my tests never seemed quite right to me so I had a gut feeling. This time I just felt more positive from the start. It sounds very promising with your tests so fingers crossed. Wishing you all the best xx

I am also the UK. I will maybe look into that on Medicheck.

Thank you for the info on that xx

I had my 1st blighted ovum found at 12w scan, my next pregnancy baby grew to 9w mc found again at 12w, my 3rd mc was blighted we got an earlier scan at 9w mc at 12w. Then I had 2 chemicals then this pregnancy I’m due next week. I think blighted ovum are the result of poor egg or sperm quality but not doesn’t mean all your eggs or sperm are poor.
