I haven't posted for a long long time! Just in a nutshell we had our 1st round of IVF just over a year and a half ago and it failed.
I have just and my AMH retested and its gone from 36 to 34, so only a slight decrease.
What I wanted to know is if anyone knows if high AMH could mean poor egg quality? I'm thankful I still have lots of eggs but its no use if they are rubbish quality. Whats the best vitamin to take to improve egg quality before we look to start our next cycle ?

From memory my AMH was early 20’s and I was about 38yrs old. When I did a cycle when I was 40, it was 19.4 - which for that age is fairly good!
But both cycles failed - unfortunately with age it gets harder to find that ‘one’ egg that doesn’t have any defects.
My sister who’s 30 did a donor round for us. Her AMH was the same as mine as 40 yrs old. The first transfer we did from her round, I’m 11 weeks pregnant today.
All AMH is, is your egg reserve, it doesn’t say if your egg reserve Is actually any good and will produce a viable pregnancy.
I used the vitamin guide in the book ‘it starts with the egg’ after taking the supplements our pool of 5 day blasts increased from 2 to 3
Hi jaygee, I did a cycle mid 30s and my AMH was 45. I got 30 eggs and one success. All attempts for siblings failed. 2 didn’t survive thaw which is against the odds. I was speaking to the Dr yesterday and he said getting lots of eggs is not the answer as they often compete with each other and your body’s resources are spread too thin. He was saying that ideally even with high AMH you should be on lower stims to get 15 eggs max and that’s better for quality. Apparently that’s not possible with many women as they over respond, so slight drops in AMH may not be a negative. So conclusion was that protocol makes a massive difference. Hopefully next one is the one for you xx
Hi ya. Thanks for your reply. I do believe I have poor quality eggs. I've never ever been successful. Even when I was on clomid I ovulated but still no success. I was on short protocol before but going for long next time. Which one did you try ?
Please don’t lose hope. We failed our first attempt and I was devastated as it all went well according to what I was told but now I understand so much more and why it didn’t work. I have always done short protocol with very low dose stimulation. How many eggs did you have collected and do they get to blastocyst stage? My first attempt I got 7 eggs and no blasts, so drastically different to my second attempt.
Hi Jaygee I'm 39 and AMH of 41 and just did a short course 187.5IU gonal f, I knew it'd be a freeze all due to ohss risk. we got 12 eggs, 11 mature, 8 fertilised by icsi, 4 embryos on day 3 and 2 blasts on day 5. blasts are getting pgt-a tested so whether they are normal or not remains to be seen! I had been on myoinositol for about a year and a whole bunch of ISWTE recommended supplements for 4 months before the cycle. I cut down on caffeine, carbs and alcohol but could do with losing weight and doing more exercise.... maybe these things helped but I think my eggs were still shonky after the drop from day 1 to day 3 🤷♀️ I could imagine doing another cycle but if no better then I think I'd rather move to donor eggs.... good luck! 🧡
