Has anyone had ivf success with deep endometriosis? Really needing some positive stories.

Hi All,

I was diagnosed with deep endometriosis and Adenomyosis last week, following an MRI scan. I also have some adhesions.

I have been so devastated since.

Would be grateful if anyone could share the stories and the pathway they took to get pregnant.

Hi I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis in 2019 after years of ttc & actually having already started fertility treatment is when I was referred for surgery , I had deep endo patches on both ovaries with large endometrioma cysts coming off them , they removed the large cyst & sent back for ivf treatment, by the time this started another cyst had grown , we proceeded with the ivf anyway after months of Prostap injections to try to reduce the cyst.

Fast forward to now I am currently 15 weeks pregnant following ivf treatment . My endo cyst still present & ovaries are stuck together but not causing any issues.

So it can happen !

Many congrats... what a journey!! Thank you for sharing. Was yout surgery a laproscopy? Im really worried that by the time i get the surgery, i would have aged some more. Im already 40 with amh of 4 and very low afc 5. Did you docs advise you to do a frozen cycle or fresh?

Thankyou ! Yes I had laparoscopic surgery to drain cyst & for diagnosis, they advised to not touch too much of the endometriosis patches incase of damage to my ovaries as this can lower Amh further ,

It may be worth chatting to a fertility specialist to see if your suitable for ivf treatment before any laparoscopic surgeries

I did a frozen cycle first but only due to covid & then fresh for this attempt. The plan was to go ahead with fresh.

Sometimes depending on how your ovaries are the fertility doctors advise going ahead with ivf first X

Hi Diane, is treatment mainly a laproscopy? My ivf docs said they wont down regulate me due to being low amh and poor responder.

My best friend had terrible endo that had folded her tubes over and she had large painful endometrial cysts on both ovaries. She had to have keyhole lap surgery to drain these cysts before her rounds but she did get pregnant via IVF. After she gave birth her cysts haven't come back and she has since got pregnant and give birth to a daughter through another round of IVF and so far her endo has stayed away since. FYI she had her first baby at 40 and her second at 42 x

Hi Daisy, thank you so much for sharing. My nhs gynae doc did say that pregnancy was the best cure. Its getting pregnant which is the hard part. So far my ovaries seem ok. But i read that ivf drugs make Endo worse as it feeds of estrogen. Feels like even ivf is suitable for me anymore.... its all catch 22.

If its any consolation my friend did 8 rounds of IVF, both fresh and frozen and had her Babies on rounds 7 and 8. She did have the keyhole surgery 3 times in total but if you asked her now she would say it was worth it xx
