7 WEEKS AND GOT A FAINT LINE

For some reason I woke up wanting to do a pregnancy test. Am 7 weeks 5days with twins from my last scan. I did a pregnancy test this morning n the line was there but not dark enough. A bit faint. Am confused now and don’t know what to do. Please has anyone experienced this before or can tell me what this means. Thank you!

Hi Zari. The "Hook effect" is one explaination, which pretty much tells you what is going on. I would go by your scans. That was completely normal, with nothing to suspect there is a problem. You're pregnant which is brilliant. Hope all continues to go as it should. Diane

After 7 weeks you're pretty much in no man's land for a while I'm afraid: pregnancy tests will give false negatives because the hcg is too strong, so you can't rely on those anymore, and the only way of really knowing if baby is OK is from scans. This is the part where you read into every little symptom appearing or disappearing, and every scan makes you SUPER anxious. Try not to worry if boobs feel less sore or the nausea goes for a couple of days or you have mild cramps.... Every pregnancy is different. Book extra scans if you need to- it helps.

Good news is you start to feel movement after 20 weeks, so the constant kicking keeps you sane at least.

Good luck for the roller-coaster of emotions coming your way 😁

Thank you so much , I think I’ll just stop googling and depend on the scan , my head was spinning, but the re assurance here has help me calmed down. Thank you so much!!

That was the point I started going out of my mind as I didn't feel any different to "normal". I obsessed over the miscarriage statistics and was convinced everything was going wrong. I ended up booking a private scan for 9+1 and it was the best thing I could have done. Baby was actually starting to look like a baby and was moving around. It really broke up the wait until the 12 week scan and I stopped being convinced I was going to lose the baby.

I'm 17 weeks now and the anxiety does start dropping as you go through each scan.

Wishing you all the best of luck for your pregnancy!
