Another question sorry, after my recent endometrial biopsy it was suggested that I have over active immune cells. The doctor has prescribed 20mg of steroids from day 3 of my cycle to potentially 12 weeks if successful. My nhs doctor thinks this is an extremely high dose so I wondered if anyone has been prescribed steroids could you let me know what dose please and when you started and how long for? Also have you had any side effects? Thanks

my nk cells are at 24.04 and I've been advise 20mg from the day before my next transfer or if I fall naturally from a positive pregnancy test - this was professor Jan Brosens
I have started 10mg a week before transfer, then 2 days before transfer I increased it to 20mg for 3 or 4 days, then 15mg for another 3 days and then back to 10mg. If i am lucky to get as far as 12 weeks, I will be staying on this dose until 12 weeks. The doctor wants me to stop it after but I am planning to stay on 5mg for another week, next I will continue 5mg every other day and then I will stop.
I was on steriods before my transfer. I was prescribed methylpred 4mg. However as soon as i got my hcg done and it was positive my doctor took me off it. I am 11 weeks pregnant now with twins.
I was on 10mg prednisone last cycle, (starting day 1 or a little earlier), and this upcoming cycle I'm on 20mg daily prednisone. No side effects at all xx
I've also recently had an endometrial biopsy. They said I had aggressive UNK Cells. I've also been told I will be on 20mg of steroids from day 3.
They have said to me. If successful I will be taking them up until 12 weeks, then I'll gradually wean off.
A friend of mine also had nk cells, she was also prescribed steroids but 25mg plus intralipids. She said her only side effect was her face/ body went a little puffy but as soon as she weaned off them after 12 weeks, that soon subsided x
Thanks that sounds similar to what I’ve been prescribed! Good luck with your transfer. That’s good to know that the side effects wore off for your friend xx
