*sensitive* is my test line getting lighter?

I was thrilled to finally have a BFP on 10dp5dt only to see what I can tell is a lighter line on 13dp5dt instead of what I expected to be a much darker line (see photo). Both FMU using First Response. I’m having a blood test on Thursday but I can’t say that I’m feeling very positive.

Anyone went through something similar and had either a positive or negative outcome? Thank you.

Could just be 1st urine sample was more concentrated than the 2nd . Wait a day or so repeat test with 1st pee of the day and I am hopeful it will be darker Take care of yourself

Thank you so much for this, will try to stay positive and test again in 2 days’ time.

So on our first transfer this happened to us and unfortunately we had a chemical, our clinic don't routinely do bloods so we just had to wait and test a few days later. Our second frostie we also had this, and the day after the line was darker again and I'm 32 weeks today. So it could just be the urine sample, I found my tests darker in the evening and best to use a pot that dip in the stream x All the best xxx

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. Sorry you had a chemical but equally pleased for you that things are a lot better now. Have a gut feeling mine is a chemical because I have zero symptoms too (had sore boobs but that’s gone now). Will test again in a few days’ time. All the best to you too xxx

it's crappy when it happens, it's like you get so close, but equally all we would wish for was a happy and healthy babe and so my reasoning was that if the pregnancy had progressed, maybe baby would have had many difficulties that could have even not have been compatible with life after birth. You are one step closer to your baby no matter the outcome of this xxx

That is so spot on and really sensible thinking. Thanks for your positive thoughts, I really appreciate it xxx

It does look like the line has got lighter but keep testing. It could be a one off test and the next one could be darker. Try and keep yourself busy up until the blood test. Easier said than done, I know. Wishing you all the best!

Thanks for your reply. The clinic have asked me to come in today so I’ve just done the blood test. Time will tell xx

Had the line on the second test queued when you took the photo- I found they got a lot darker after several hours. Hope this one works out for you x

Thank you, that makes sense. Will try this x

I meant to say had it dried- not sure how than becam ‘queued’! It really does seem to make a big difference how long it’s been since you took the test. Really hoping it turns out well for you x

Your second sentence made it clearer :) it hadn’t dried when I took the photo but I did leave it a while like you suggested and it got slightly darker. The clinic will call tomorrow to confirm either way. Thanks so much for your wishes xx

Stay positive. This is why I test on test day and only test day. You can run rings around yourself worrying about this sort of thing. As others have said it could be that you’d had a lot to drink so the hormone was showing less in the urine. Add to that there are probably a lot of anomalies with these tests. 🤞 all is fine for the blood test

You’re absolutely right. I tested because something felt off, but you end up worrying more. The blood test will be definitive so will rely on this going forwards x

Hello everyone, thanks again for your support during a difficult time for me. I think it’s useful for people to see an update to a post, so here’s mine. Unfortunately my HCG blood test result was super low (7.5) at 14dp5dt so it was a confirmed biochemical pregnancy. Will take a break for a few months and give it another try!

Very sorry to hear this. It is upsetting after initally seeing those positive lines. A break sounds like a good idea, take care x

It’s quite brutal isn’t it? I’m hoping for some answers when I see my doctor later this month. Sorry you’ve had to go through this too xx
