Embrologist review

So just spoken to the embrologist and the embryo didnt make it unfortunately - i asked why they didn't transfer on day 3 and she advised that it just wasnt good enough quality... I proceeded to ask other questions however she did say it wouldn't be surprising if the doctor didnt suggest donor eggs?

I advised about the DNA fragmentation she said it would be interesting to see and definitely a good idea however the sperm doesn't usually start till day 3 which shows more likely and issue with quality of eggs but as they didn't continue to grow could also indicate quality of sperm but it is hard to say 🤷‍♀️

Honestly i just dont know what to say weve managed to get a 1 day blast before so surely something must be going right at one point... Not sure should i just give up on my eggs and go straight to donor? Xx

Oh Lornajade90, so sorry for you. This journey is just so rough. Maybe a bit too soon to focus on next step??? Give yourself time to grieve, heal, rest even if it is only for a little while. Lots of factors to consider going down DE route or not. Have the discussion with the doctor and partner and see what you think then. Big hugs.

I would have a chat to another clinic, get a second opinion before you start thinking about the donor route, not that there is anything wrong with that.

I really believe not all clinics are created equal. I had three failed cycles, early transfers because of development and was convinced my eggs were useless. Changed clinics and got my daughter from first cycle there along with two Frosties.

Hiya we were in exactly the same position as you. Got one to day 5 but not the best quality all the rest died at day 3. We have done 4 rounds now and they think that both sperm and egg quality is very poor. We have made it to transfer once but it wasn’t worth transferring. It’s absolutely devastating. They are recommending donors for us too xxx hope your ok xxx
