Spain entry rules change

I know if you're having treatment in Spain that you'll be checking constantly (as I have been) but ICYMI, essential travel by air from the UK was allowed again after 30 March.

Hi GiantPanda, I’m like you and checking constantly. I’m still a little confused about it as a load of Brits were turned back from Alicante airport this week (on the 30th) because the Border workers were saying that they didn’t have an essential reason to travel into Spain(they were picking up post Brexit residency documents after being advised by Spanish officials in country they they were ready for collection, and they had all the paperwork to prove it). I’m concerned about Spain not listing medical appointments as an essential reason to travel the way the UK have. I need to travel into Alicante.x

We're not expecting a smooth run, half expecting to not even get out of this country! We're going to try though. My clinic has said they've had the go ahead from their end, which has given me a little confidence because this is the first time they haven't tried to put me off trying to come. I have to get a decent scan on Weds first - all of this could be academic if my lining isn't right! 🤞

Good luck to you too! Check what your clinic says. Mine have said they've had the go ahead their end. I know that still won't guarantee us entry to Spain, but feels a step closer. X

They are extending the restrictions until end of April ...

Phew, still says restrictions are loosened for the UK. Flights booked for Friday 🤪. Hope you're doing ok! X

Thanks for the post. I'll be interested to hear how everyone gets on and if there's anyone from Scotland in particular trying to get to Alicante. We have to stay in quarantine hotels on return from all countries 😬. Good luck all🤞🤞

Thank you! I'd been planning to post - but yes we're in Barcelona. It was all very straightforward. The only questionning we had was at check in at Manchester: asking for reason and proof of travel. We had to complete another form on our flight to Paris, passport check there, and then in Barcelona the QR code was scanned but no passport check or questions. The QR code must have provided everything they needed. We didn't relax properly until we were completely out of the airport though.I'd been pestering the Spanish Consulate and everything before we left, but it was nothing like I imagined it would be! Hope you get your trip sorted soon! Xx

😂 It's overcast /rainy, and I've brought some work with me, but feel better doing that than stressing about catching up when I get back. But in between the rain and work, I'll be relaxing like a BOSS! Xx
