Anyone waiting for treatment in Spain?

Is anybody waiting to go to Spain for treatment? I am unsure whether to go now or wait and go in a month, when I run the risk of this situation getting worse. Bloody covid... 😠.Feeling a bit trapped and down that I cannot continue my big cycle. Anxious that I don't want the stress to damage my chances. 😞

Hi jolo146, I really empathise with you although my treatment is in Czech Republic not Spain so not subject to any quarantining at the moment. I was due to go for my transfer in March but it was cancelled due to Covid so I decided to book flights end of Sept hoping that it would have calmed down by then but I was getting so worked up about waiting that I decided to bring transfer forward so I'm now booked in for end of Aug, I was tired of hearing reports of a potential second wave, although I think the media have a lot to answer for but I just thought I need to go sooner rather than later. I think for Spain it would depend which area you were going to and if you are able to quarantine when you come back. I must admit I am feeling a bit nervous about getting on a plane but I will be armed with hand gel, mask, wipes and I've bought some travel size disinfectant spray.

We went for donor egg treatment to Czech (Brno) in July. We were so anxious about covid but it was actually like life was normal there. They locked down really quickly and were able to start opening up (safely) earlier than us. I felt a lot safer there than here.

Hi ChloeDE that's reassuring to know Thank you, we probably go to the same clinic! I have said I will feel safer there as they have managed it really well, I just feel a bit nervous about the plane. I have been more nervous about the UK going back into lockdown but I don't think they could afford for that to happen again. Did you get through the airports ok? I'm flying from Stanstead, directly into Brno.

We flew Stansted to Brno too. There were no issues at all. The airport was quite quiet and the flight about 65% full.

We also wanted to get there and get treatment in case borders are closed or restrictions are put in place again.

I'm going to Spain at the end of September. My clinic thinks quarantine will be lifted by then although I wouldn't trust that.

Can you quarantine and work from home?

Hi that's my problem really, work will be getting busy in October (I am currently furloughed) and after the week in September I only have ,1 day holiday. Really not sure what to do for the best

I don't think you can rely on anything right now, so my advice would be if you have time now, go now. A friend at work has come back from holiday in Spain and felt safe. The situation changes all the time it's impossible to know, but if you know if you know you can't take time off later, then I would be inclined to go sooner than later. As if we didn't have enough to worry about! Good luck xx

My cycle in Spain was cancelled in March and I had to come home.

I got started again when the quarantine in the UK was lifted i'm all set to go back in a couple of weeks and will have to quarantine when I get back (unless it is lifted). I'm worried about covid getting worse, the flight, getting a cough before I go and having to cancel but I know I'm just so fed up with waiting and thinking winter might not be better, next year might not be better..

Thanks it is so unpredictable, I am going to Valencia which doesn't seem to be so bad. Just wanted to start again and get things moving 😟

I know someone that is having treatment in Valencia and they feel pretty safe at the moment as things have quietened down over there due to the quarantine thing. Its so hard to know what to do for the best isnt it. Im having treatment in Greece so thankfully we are on the safe list for now as they are in a better position than us thankfully! Tough decision, for me I just wanted to get going in case things get worse instead of better.xx

I went to do my transfer in Spain 10days ago, the streets are empty, airport is empty, the security measures are all in place, everyone is wearing masks etc, in my opinion it is very safe as long as you are being careful. I got my negative this morning so will be gearing up for next cycle soon x I say go for it

Hi, I wish I could fly there now, and forget about work....so sorry for negative, I've had four of them 😕 doesn't get any easier, just keep hoping. Best of luck for next time
