Hi

Sorry I have not been here for a while, anyone doing fertility treatment with donor eggs in Spain, have you been able to travel under essential travel? Thank you x

I’m flying in a couple weeks. Spain lifted its restrictions today for British holiday makers so we no longer need to make a case for essential travel.x

Is IVF cheaper in Spain and which city you go to.?

I’m getting it in Portugal and it’s costing €5,100 not including meds. It’s my first cycle so fingers crossed. Portugal has a cheaper standard of living than Spain but Spain does have some of the best IVF hospitals in the world. This was what I discovered in my initial research.

It's cheaper but it adds up with flights and hotels. Also you'll have to pay for scans whilst your in the UK which would have been included if you were in Spain.

Hi I go to ValenciaI would say yes slightly cheaper than uk but main reason for me is I use donor eggs and donations are anonymous and no waiting lists

Hope this helps x

I went to Czech Republic. It was just under €5000 not including my medication for donor eggs. Like another poster said, there are no waiting lists, you get all the eggs your donor produces and they guarantee 2x good quality blastocysts.

Hi Chloe I have never thought of donor eggs but also I havent started my IVF either so We dont know what is our future. I am 44 soon 45 and just reading and reading.. Can my age have a baby with donor eggs successful? By going abroad how many days do I need to stay there and can I go on my own or partner has to come?

Your partner would need to go for the donor's retrieval to give his sperm sample or this can be done in advance and frozen. Five days later, you would need to go for transfer. It's a quick and safe procedure. Really, you would only need to be there one day but most people stay for a couple of days.We started IVF when I was 37. Everyone is different but already the quality of my eggs had deteriorated.

I had treatment in Czech and others are still travelling there under essential travel. They have gotten a letter from their clinic to show in case they need it.Good luck!

I have travelled to Ukraine 4 times since the Pandemic started. One just have to be careful overall.

I usually stay in self catering and take my food from here or shop once there and only trip I make is to clinic and airport.

Now that people are made to do mandatory test before travelling risk is a bit less on aircraft.

I have only few eggs left in my lifetime. Nothing can be more important than not letting them wither away while I read does and don'ts.

People who don't have fertility problem are not restricted from attempting to have babies. So You should be able to travel but practice all safety measures to reduce risk of infection.

Also ask the clinic to give you letter.
