Hi ladies, so I’m 5 weeks pregnant today and I’ve just had some pink discharge. Was a fair amount had to wipe quite a few times for it to be gone! Worried that this is the start of something going wrong 😩 I know it could be further implantation spotting but so hard to not convince yourself of the worst! Anyone had the same and everything be okay? X

Try not to panic just yet Mai! I had this too around 4.5 weeks and was worried sick as it was on and off for a few days but viability scan showed all was ok. I have had a really big scary bleed since but miraculously the babe was still safe in there none the wiser. It’s quite common to bleed in ivf pregnancy (this did nothing to calm my nerves but honestly it is) and hopefully it’s just some spotting/implantation. Call your clinic and let them know though.

Unfortunately they won’t be able to scan you because it’s too early to see anything but they might offer to check your HCG levels to make sure they’re going up nicely or suggest taking an extra pessary (there’s mixed views whether this does anything tbh) - I did both of these things and it did make me feel better. Good luck lovely I’ll be thinking of you. Xx

Thanks so much for your reply! It’s so hard not to panic isn’t it but stories like yours are really reassuring. I’ve not had pain or anything so hoping it is all ok.Yes I think I’ll ask them to do HCG testing just for a little peace of mind. I’m not on any progesterone or anything this cycle was completely natural.

Thank you xx

I totally understand, I still inspect that toilet paper every time I go to the loo! Hopefully your spotting will stop soon and doing your betas next week will make you feel a bit less worried. Hang in there! xx

It’s picked up now and is fresh red, I’d say like a light/medium period not heavy and no pain at all still! Just going to see how it goes tonight and call the clinic first thing xx

Ok my love I know you’re probably worried sick but try not panic. If you have an out of hours number maybe give the on-call consultant a ring tonight? I’m 99% sure they’ll say to just wait and watch but ask if they can book you in for a blood test first thing. It’ll give you a plan of action for tomorrow. I’d say if you can, try and rest as much as possible now and put your feet up/ lie down - might help slow things down. Ill be thinking about you and send you you positive vibes. pls do DM if you need xx
