Just wanted to give an update to those who have given me so much support since joining the forum 2 years ago and also hope to others particularly the ladies who are on this journey as a single mum.
My darling Jack Alexander was born on 24/02/21 by emergency caesarean. I had a routine midwife check at 38 weeks and my blood pressure was so high I was admitted and didn’t come home until Jack was born. My waters were broken to speed things up but unfortunately we caught an infection between then and being in labour so at 9cm dilated they decided the safest method was a caesarean. It was a tough few days leading up to this point but the main thing was Jack was safe and well. We stayed in hospital a week after so Jack could be treated for the infection also.
I hope this post doesn’t upset anyone but I wanted to share as I’ve always felt so grateful for the ladies here. I didn’t have any fertility issues except for problems with my lining but going through losses, IVF, canceled & failed transfers are all the hardest things I’ve ever gone through & this group kept me going. It has all been so worth it.
I’ve done this as a single mum with a sperm donor. I made this decision as a baby was the part that’s always been missing for me & what made my heart hurt every day.
I’m sending so much love and hope to you all & am here for support should anyone need it.

Oh I got a proper lump in my throat seeing this! Sounds like you had a tough time so I’m glad you’re back home, safe and sound and starting your lives together.
Awwwww what a little beautie!! 😍 Huge congratulations lovely. So happy to hear that you have finally got your little bubba in your arms after such a tough time! x
Love this. Amazing news. Thank you for your support during my cycles. I’m so delighted it has happened for you. Jack is absolutely perfect. I wish you all the best being a mummy. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Xxx
Aww congratulations! He is gorgeous. I am so happy for you xxx
You remind me of my labour, I had an emergency C section after being stuck at 8cm and had an infection so my little girl and I were in hospital for a week on antibiotics xx
Congratulations xxx this sounds similar to my story when I give birth to my miracle 5 weeks ago. I also got to 9cm and ended up having an emergency c section and also I was kept in for infection on me and my son. Glad you are both well. 😃 welcome to the world little man and welcome to the mummy club xxx ❤️❤️
You too! I am still recovering 6 weeks later and I still remember it like it were yesterday. I am trying to spend as much time with Archie as I feel I didn’t get the bond at the beginning when I was in surgery at c section because it was so traumatic as I was scared and under a lot of medication. I still feel very lucky when I see my miracle and although it were awful I count my blessing everyday xxx hope you and the family are well xxx 💙❤️💙
Oh bless you. It’s hard going when things change suddenly. I keep going over it myself and asking my sister (birth partner) questions about it all. Always here if you need to chat as I think it’s hard thing to get your head round to be honest & then staying in hospital too. They actually mistook Jack for another baby who was finishing antibiotics earlier than Jack and removed his cannula too early so they had to put a new one in. I questioned it as well. I was so stressed and upset by the end xxx
This is amazing news! 💐💖😘 wow! I remember your journey and am so glad to see your joy 😘💖💐 hope for us all 🙏🏻😘💖💐 What a Wee dote! Hi Jack! Your mum is a machine 💪🏻😘💖💐🙏🏻😘💖💐😘💖💐💖💐💖💐💖
