Metformin....

Has anyone seen an improvement taking metformin vs not taking metformin. Contemplating a 5th cycle but feeling hopeless when I get so many eggs but no blasts. The only time I ever got anything to freeze was cycle 1 long protocol and metformin. Cycles 2,3,4 all antagonist and not on metformin. Not sure if it's age related or because I was on metformin. I'm now 40

Both my UK clinic and my clinic abroad believe it's an age related decline in egg quality when we started out with just MFI.

I'm in complete turmoil whether to do another OE Cycle knowing I'll get no blasts (from 19 eggs usually) or to move to DE. My mental health has taken a complete battering after 4 cycles including one loss and my funds are near non existant.

Anyone have experience or metformin? Was your cycle better? The same? Worse?

Am I clutching at straws? Xx

Edit, I've done all the supplements in ISWTE, icsi, imsi, endo scratches, embryoglue, embryoscope, clear hsg. I've have PCO but not the syndrome.

My clinic put me on metformin on my third round (second ec) and i got a bfp (unfortunately i had a miscarriage). I have read some studies that say being on metformin can help implantation and reduce miscarriage (i was told to stop metformin at 5 weeks so insisting that next time i am on it for 12 weeks if it works). I have read that there is not harm so might be worth a try!

I also have PCOS and it is so frustrating.

Also sorry that this is battering. We are heading towards another round but taking a break for a coupe of months. It is tough and so hard to explain to people. I started seeing a counsellor and that helped.
